The spacious living room has an old inglenook fireplace with a woodburner, original bread oven, digital television and dvd player.
Upstairs - The bedrooms comprise of 2 double luxury en-suite rooms each with king size double beds and television, also 2 character twin bedded rooms and an additional luxurious bathroom with walk-in shower, freestanding bath etc.
Downstairs - 1 luxury twin-bedded en suite shower room with underfloor heating, television and access leading out to the patio area. This room is suitable for those wishing to avoid stairs and can accommodate those with disabled needs

Farm animals and very friendly pets. Private Fishing on the River Frome. Private fishing on lakes for children to learn to cast and beautiful streams for paddling and catching minnows. New Private tennis court on site by appointment.
The price of rental for the accommodation includes all crisp white bed linen (no cot linen), towels - one hand and one luxury sized bath sheet (beach towels available at extra cost by request), electricity, central heating, underfloor heating, gas for the barbeque and logs and coal for the woodburner.

Although extremely accessible to the numerous local attractions, pubs, restaurants and shops, the property enjoys an idyllic rural location set in 600 acres of farmland. For nature lovers this is absolute paradise with miles of beautiful woodland and riverside walks. Fishing platforms have been constructed to enable children (and adults) to learn to fish on private lakes and a nature trail follows the meandering River Frome, renowned for its brown trout and greyling fishing, which is also available to guests by arrangement. The water meadows are rich in wildlife and the River Frome is now a recognised Site of Special Scientific Interest due to its populations of rare species such as the otter and water vole.
The farm boasts many enterprises including a small pedigree herd of Red Devon cattle, salad crop production and an aquatic centre which sells all types of home grown cold water fish and aquatic plants to the public. Guests are always made welcome and are free to explore the farm and the surrounding area.

I am so pleased that you had such a lovely weekend break and enjoyed some of which the Lodge has to offer. I agree the night sky has been amazing recently - the stars so clear and vivid and we are so lucky for the peace and tranquility.
Apologies that you did not see more of the dogs, Otter and Martha! - Otter particularly enjoys playing in the streams with Guests but Martha can be quite shy!!

Thank you for your review and I am so pleased that you had such an enjoyable stay with your friends. So many of our Guests enjoy Autumn and Winter breaks, not only are they so reasonably priced but its a wonderful time of the year to enjoy brisk walks around the meadows and Nature Trail on the farm and then return to the blissfully warm Lodge with woodburner lit on cold days. There is an abundance of wildlife and the scenery is stunning.
