Argideen River Lodges are close to the village of Timoleague with its dramatic ruined abbey at the head of Courtmacsherry Bay on the picturesque coastline of West Cork. The region is renowned for its beaches, notably the sweeping sand beaches at Clonakilty and Harbour View. Nearby Courtmacsherry is an attractive fishing port as is Kinsale well known for its gourmet and arts festivals. Farther west are the wild and spectacular moorland panoramas of West Cork, whale watching expeditions from Baltimore.
The Timoleague / Inchybridge area
The Argideen River, on the property, is rated as one of the best sea trout rivers in Ireland. Fishing rights are included in the rental. Sea angling boats can be hired at Courtmacsherry, and there is a first-class riding school within a ten minute drive.

Had a wonderful 2wk stay at Lodge1 with the wife, our 19mth old, and 2 Border Terriers. The accomadation proved to be very spacious. The conservatory caught the afternoon sun and was very popular as a play area for our little girl. The dogs were very happy, as were we, with the field/meadow area behind the property. It was delightful to have the river right on your doorstep too. The open fire in the evening made the lounge very cosy. The property is well located, with easy access to local towns and villages. As a fisherman, kayaker, walker and wildlife enthusiast it proved to be ideal. |
