Home description
Maison Tillac is a beautifully renovated 19th century farm worker's cottage with attached barn in the medieval village of Tillac in Gascony in South West France. It can be rented as two separate gîtes ("Le Cottage" and "La Grange") or as a whole. Sightseeing, walking, cycling, golf, tennis, horse riding, fishing are all available in the area. Maison Tillac is ideal for a relaxing or active holiday in the beautiful Gascon countryside.
Situated in the Gers at the edge of a delightful 14th century village with facilities, Maison Tillac combines the best of the old with the best of the new. In the conversion the owners have endeavoured to retain as much of traditional design as possible, but have combined this with a level of comfort and range of facilities that will appeal to the discerning traveller.

The Midi-Pyrenees / Gers region
Gers lies at the heart of the pre-revolutionary region of Gascony. Although Gascony no longer exists in administrative terms, it still lives on in the emotions of the Gascon people and in the simple pleasures of life - the beautiful rolling countryside, the rural activities, the fine traditional food and drink - including the gourmet treats of foie gras and confit de canard. There are many good, inexpensive restaurants in the area serving these traditional delights as well as a selection serving a broader range of fine gourmet food. Madiran, St. Mont, Jurancon and Pacherenc wines, and, of course, fiery Armagnac, can all be tasted at the producing chateaux, domaines and chais.
Tillac area
Maison Tillac is situated one minute's walk from the local epicerie with the tastiest croissants, two from the best butcher in the area, three from the village bar and restaurant, and the tennis court and four minutes drive from an 18-hole golf course. Maison Tillac is ideal for a relaxing holiday in the beautiful Gascon countryside. Marciac, with its International Jazz Festival, Mirande for Country Music and Vic Fezensac for Salsa are all very close by.
Tillac has its Floralie, Brocante, Fete and classical music concerts. Add the rolling countryside of Gascony and its fields of smiling sunflowers, tiny villages, produce markets, quiet roads and lots of sunshine and you have the magic ingredients for the best of holidays.
The following list gives more details of the things to do and places to go within easy reach of Maison Tillac:
