At least once in your life , you have to experience the exclusive use of a tropical Dream Island in one of the nicest atoll of the legendary Tuamotu Archipelago, at 50 minutes by plane from Tahiti.

in the middle of South Pacific, along with Tahiti and Bora Bora, the Tuamotu Archipelago is composed of a myriad of "atolls": rings of coral reef dotted with green islets, called “motu”, enclosing gorgeous inviting blue lagoons; a swimmer’s paradise with a treasure trove of sealife to explore.

The infinite palette of blues of the lagoon, the peace of the lagoon, the white beaches bathed in sunlight and shaded by coconut palms: a postcard paradise appears before your eyes.

Fafarua Lodge is a private “motu” : when you rent it, it is reserved exclusively for you.

It is an isolated place where you can enjoy unspoilt natural beauty in private.

The "motu" is accessible only by boat ; a 30 minute ride from the village. It is an over 6 hectare area, planted with a vast coconut grove with places of untouched native vegetation. It is bounded by the sea on all four sides, with sandy beaches on the lagoon side, a large wild reef on the outer side.

Although far from any civilisation, the house will offer you the comfort of a villa : nice furnitures, comfortable bedding, fully equipped kitchen, electricity and running water (hot and cold), fans, mobile telephone network and the internet (on a « tropical speed »….).

The house is built in the typical style of the Tuamotu. It has three bedrooms, one upstairs with a double bed and two with a double bed and a single one. The rooms are simple and colorful, airy and well-ventilated through natural ventilation, equipped with mosquito nets, fans and cupboards.

The lounge on the ground floor is open and spacious, including a U-shaped seat, that can provide six extra sleeping places. The dining area will set for ten persons. The kitchen is open and fully-equipped. This is a comfortable family home, very open and friendly.

As usual in Polynesian Islands, near the main house are a "Fare potee" (covered outdoor seating and dining area), and a “Fare pape” (outhouse) with bathroom, toilet and laundry.

Away from the beach and the house, in the interior of the "motu", there is a small residential home for the staff which ensures a constant presence.

As the island is rented “all inclusive” (our rates depend on how many days and how many people stay on the motu, please don’t hesitate to ask for a quotation), transfers from and to the airport are included.

Full catering is provided by the staff of the motu. Meal times, and to the extent possible, the menus, are organized by the hostess according to the guests’ wishes.

We will take pride in preparing as well as the French cuisine, the typical dishes of the archipelago and of Polynesia.

Throughout the day, tea, coffee, drinking water and homemade lemonade are available to guests. Other drinks, juices, sodas, beers, wines and spirits are available and will be charged at the displayed prices.

Our wine cave is stocked well with white and red French wines, as well as champagne. Don’t hesitate to let us know if you have preferred selection of wine , beer or any alcohol, we will do our best to get it fot you.

There are many ways to explore the beautiful Tuamotu; whether swimming at your exclusive private beach , taking long walks on the reef to explore the wonders of coral reefs, stretching as far as the eye can see, or snorkelling in the "hoa" (or channels); nature’s real-life aquariums. On the island you can enjoy the coolness of the shade from the coconut palms; the typical vegetation of the Tuamotu as it is used by the locals for the coconut milk and to make copra (coconut oil).

Located 20 kilometers from the village, the Motu offers serene isolation in a picture-postcard landscape. Due to the round shape of the atoll, the motu is equidistant from the village, the channel or the beaches of the long "motu" . Only a few small boats pass each other from time-to-time, going to a fishing spot or a family coconut grove, and do not break the tranquility of the place.

In addition of the many activities you can have on and around the motu, exploring the environment, snorkeling, kayaking, stand up paddling, the boat driver will take you to many sights of interest all around the lagoon for « à la carte » and personalised trips.

Merci pour votre commentaire. Nous avons bien reçu votre mail 2 jours après votre départ et avons découvert le problème à ce moment-là. Entre temps, et comme habituellement, nous avions dès votre départ, changé et lavé les draps et fait un ménage complet des chambres. A réception de votre mail nous nous sommes procuré du matériel professionnel pour le diagnostic et le traitement de ce genre de parasites. Il s’avère que les tests diagnostic sont resté négatifs aussi bien au niveau de la literie que des chambres elles-mêmes. Nous avons cependant entamé une procédure de traitement avec un matèriel professionnel thermique comme recommandé. Il faut remarquer que nous n’avions, avant votre passage, jamais été confronté à ce genre de problème, et que depuis votre passage, les personnes qui ont utilisé les lieux, que ce soit notre propre famille, enfants et petits-enfants pendant trois semaines ou les clients qui se sont succédés par la suite ne nous nous ont rapporté à ce jour aucun problème. Nous pensons donc que les parasites que vous dites avoir eus n’ont pu provenir que de vos bagages, que vous avez déposés sur les literies dès votre arrivée, juste après votre vol international en provenance de France, vols sur lesquels des cas de contaminations ont été signalés. Heureusement si vos bagages étaient contaminés, ils n’ont contaminé que les draps sur lesquels vous les avez déposés et n’ont pas eu le temps de contaminer notre literie. Malgré tout, nous vous remercions, car grâce à vous nous avons été particulièrement sensibilisés à ce problème, avons investi dans du matériel professionnel pour la détection et le traitement éventuel des parasites et avons mis en place un protocole de surveillance systèmatique après chaque départ avec possibilité de traitement professionnel immédiat si besoin, ce que nous n’avons pas eu besoin de mettre en route jusque-là. Nous avons répondu à votre mail 3 jours plus tard, après avoir pris les mesures ci-dessus énoncées, en vous demandant de prendre les mesures nécessaires de protections au niveau de vos propres bagages pour éviter toute contamination d’un autre établissement touristique lors de votre séjour. Nous n’avons pas eu de réponse et espérons que cela a été le cas et que vous n’avez pas introduit de parasites ailleurs que chez nous. Nous vous remercions également pour nous donner, à l’occasion de votre commentaire, l’opportunité de demander à tous nos prochains visiteurs de ne jamais déposer les bagages ayant séjourné dans des cales d’avions, sur les lits de nos chambres. How do damage deposits work?
