About the home

Catered Chalet Apartment. Four available bedrooms, all with fitted carpets for extra comfort . One family bedroom with double and 2 bunk beds. Double and single bed on the mezzanine floor, another bedroom with 2 single or a king size bed , off this room is a curtained annexe with a single bed. Then there is a room with a double bed accommodating a total of 12 persons.

The apartment is furnished to a very high standard. The lounge,has a balcony that overlooks a beautiful lake and the ski slopes, with a cosy log fire, large corner setee making it a very sociable space.There is a huge dining table, which seats up to 12 people. In the corner there is a matching bar..

Breakfast and afternoon tea with cake is provided. a 3 course dinner is provided at Les Chardons except on the staffs' day off .

We provide a hearty breakfast to start your day. After your days skiing , you will be ready to enjoy afternoon tea and cake. In the evening wholesome home cooked three course evening meal will be served in the restaurant at Les Chardons..
There is also a flat-screen television with English TV ,and also a corner bar where you are welcome to provide your own drinks if you so wish.

Further details outdoors:
The village of Les Brevieres is about 5 minutes walk from the chalet where there are bars and restaurants. Live music twice a week at Vincents, and various events at other bars. There is something every night at Les Chardons.
The balcony overlooks the ski slopes and the lake it is only 150 meters from the chalet to the lift at the end of the road. A short walk from the chalet there is a free car park.

Further details

It is a two to two and a half hour bus or car journey from Chambery Airport to the apartment. Whereas from Geneva or Lyon Airport it takes from three hours to the apartment depending on traffic..
Tthe ski train runs from London, St Pancras all the way to Bourg St. Maurice, which is 25 minutes approximately from Les Brevieres. Please ask if you require transport from the airport.

Due to its altitude Tignes has a very reliable snow record which, after recent seasons of reduced snowfall, has encouraged people to choose higher mountain resorts. According to 'The good Ski & Snowboarding Guide 2005' Tignes/Val d'Isere is one of only two ski areas in France listed as 'Snow-sure resorts'.

Tignes boasts a fast & efficient lift system 97 lifts including 2 high speed underground trains (funicular railways) one of which transports you from Tignes Val Claret to the 'Panoramic Restaurant' on the Grand Motte Glacier. All standards are catered for with '5 free lifts for beginners'
Les Brevieres is I believe the prettiest village in this area. It is situated approximately halfway between Tignes and Val D'Isere. From les Brevieres one can take the gondola lift up to the Grand Motte.There is also a chair lift, and there is a free drag lift in the village, which we find really useful for beginners, saving them the need to pay for a ski pass, if not for all the week, at least part of it. Just 50 meters from the chalet is the ski lift, so not far too walk.
There are so many runs and different areas to ski here, you really are spoiled for choice, whether you are a beginner or advanced, if you like skiing you'll never get bored here. We love it and I'm sure you will too.

The Tignes / Les Brevieres area

If you want to try something new, ice diving, dog sledding, hang gliding, skidoo riding, ice climbing, parascending, ski-joring (being pulled along by horses) , skating, snowshoeing, indoor tennis, heliskiing are all options. In Tignes Le Lac there is a beautiful recently constructed swimmin pool, bowling and a market twice weekly

L'Espace Killy is known for its incredible off-piste with good lift access. Also there is a half pipe, boardercross course, some great freeriding & the 1992 Olympics downhill course should you be feeling up for it.

Tignes Les Brevieres is approx 3 hours drive from either Lyon / Geneva airports, and 2 hours from Chambery airport .Budget flights available to Chambery with Jet 2.
The resort is well serviced from the UK by the Eurostar and Snowtrain, which travels from London to Bourg St Maurice train station. From here it is only 25 minutes by car/taxi.
