There are lots of places to see and things to do, such as a sail on the PS Waverley, or an adventure boat ride or come visit the Cowal Gathering. There's something for everyone.
The home of Kyles Athletic Shinty club, why not time your stay to see a home game and watch the fur fly.Handy for Tighnabruich sailing club ideal for childrens and adult sailing courses or even a boat hire for the expert.
Sailing in the Kyles area is hard to beat - whether you sail an Optimist or Ocean Cruiser, it is the place you have to visit. Just take a look at the map to see how many lochs and bays there are to discover within an easy day's sail of Tighnabruaich.
The Tighnabruaich area has a wealth of walking routes including the Cowal Way which is a 47 mile walk presented in 6 separate sections with a total climb of 1540 meters. With outstanding scenery and walks of all levels, the area is extremely accessible, located just north west of the River Clyde in Argyll.
Our challenging nine-hole golf course must boast some of the finest views of any in the world, with spectacular vistas down the North and West Kyles from both the 7th and 9th tees!
The area is very good for trout and salmon in rivers and nearby lochs - allegedly we have the second best salmon river in Scotland very nearby. The Kyles offer good mackerel fishing from the pier.
The Kyles of Bute offer unrivalled canoeing with spectacular scenery in sheltered waters. Unless of course you're confident enough to brave a cruise round Bute or across open water to Arran.
There's a wonderful almost flat cycle run on a good surface the entire length of the shore of the North and West Kyles. And for the fit, there are plenty of hills.
The Argyll and Bute region
Argyll is everything you would imagine the west coast of Scotland to be – and more, making it the perfect place for your holiday.
It’s wild and remote, with hills, glens, rugged coast, white beaches, sea lochs, clear waters and ancient forests.
Many of our properties are in the Cowal Peninsula, known as Argyll’s Secret Coast because of its undiscovered charm. You won’t find crowds of tourists here.
What you will find is wildlife, tranquillity and stunning scenery. With all this on offer, your Argyll holiday will be one to remember.
Argyll is packed with places to visit and things to do. Sailors, walkers, cyclists and artists are all drawn to this area for its natural beauty.
You’ll find plenty of restaurants and pubs serving up locally sourced food, including Loch Fyne’s world-famous seafood. And, of course, there’s a great range of holiday accommodation, from contemporary apartments to traditional cottages.
