Home description
The apt. is a conversion in an old village property with loads of character and appeal;exposed beams;orignal features etc. It is on 2 floors,living area 1ist floor and bedroom,dressing and bathroom and on the 2nd.THe private terrace has access from both the living room and kitchen, there is a table and chairs ready for all the meals taken there. I have recently installed a new shower,in keeping with the style of the original bathroom,and have redecorated and fitted new radiators. Thuir is a village/town near Perpignan (12km approx) with very easy access to Perpignan Airport. The coast is about 40mins.drive and the ski resorts an hour and a half.It is a lovely town with plenty of restaurants,bars and boutiques,during the summer there are lotsof extra activities,concerts,outdoor dances and of course the evening apertifs taken outside in one of the many village squares.There are also five estate agency's in the town so if you are house hunting the task is made a lot easier. Castelnou,Collioure,Elne,Port Vendres and many others are all nearby and well worth a visit. I have lived in or around Thuir for the past 30 years and still adore the area and the people, and now with all the airpots opening up to cheaper flights(Perpignan,Carcassone and Girona) the area is far more accessible.

The Languedoc-Roussillon / Pyrenees-Orientales region
The climate is variable,very hot in the months of july and August,between 22° to 40° but can be cool to cold in the winter months. We have the winds like the Mistral only it is called the Tremontagne which can in fact arrive almost any time of the year,but usually drives away clouds and bad weather leaving us with wonderful blue skies. The Catalan history is facinating,not many people realise there is French Catalonia and Spanish Catalonia with 2 different languages. There is also the Cathar influence not so far away. Villages like Castelnou,Collioure and Ceret are steeped in history and the town of Prades still has every summer the Pablo Casals Festival where people come from all over the world to attend the concerts. The Byrhh cave at Thuir boasts the biggest oak wine vat in the world (.Byrhh,Cinzano and Pernod Perpignan with it's Castillet,Palais de Roi de Majorque and Cathedral de ST. Jean not to mention Perpignan Station where Salvidor Dali announced was the 'centre of the world'.

Further details indoors: The apt. is not just decorated as a holiday let,it is a home and furnished as such. Everyone that has stayed there has loved it's comfort and originality, especially the sunny terrace and catalan style kitchen.
Further details outdoors: Sunny secluded terrace with views towards the mountains. table and 4 chairs with large parasol,it gets fairly hot at mid day.!! the terrace has trees and shrubs and automatic watering system. A really relaxing time can be spent there as it is completely private.

Our turn around day is usually a Saturday so I have to ask you to vacate the apt. by 11am at the latest so we can then get ready for our new clients. I haven't provided beach towels so you will need to bring them with you,please don't use the bath towels for any outside activities. Would you also please empty your garbage cans and get rid of the empty bottles before leaving.!!!! Thank you. For people staying 2 weeks or more please let me know if you want a change of linen or someone to come in and clean the charge per hour is 15€.
Conditions
Refundable deposit required to cover any breakages etc. Not suitable for young children or animals. Do please let me know about any breakages anything that can be replaced easily please do so,glasses etc. anything else I would prefer you sent me a text or left a note. Thank you in advance.
