B&B | 1 bedrooms | sleeps 2
Welcome to our 'Batch' so called because my sister-in-law, over from New Zealand named it such, is a bright and airy one-bedroomed studio with double bed, ensuite shower room and kitchen. It overlooks our orchard and has a private patio which is a real sun trap in the evening (perfect for an early evening drink).
It is situated on the edge of the attractive village of Thorverton, just a 15 minute drive from the Cathedral city of Exeter. We are also perfectly situated for both Dartmoor and Exmoor and the beautiful coastlines of north and south Devon.

About this location
The Devon region
Devon is a beautiful and varied county with Dartmoor and Exmoor for those who like walking, geocaching and just exploring, whilst the coastline is wonderfu too. There are the fabulous surfing beaches in north Devon of Saunton, Croyde and Putsborough whilst on the south coast there are the pretty seaside towns of Budleigh Salterton and Sidmouth.
There are a huge variety of National Trust properties. Greenway, the Agatha Christie house is well worth a visit and can be reached by steam train or ferry.
Devon is a real foodie county and there are often food festivals on and Farmers' Markets. Exeter hosts s food festival in April/May every year. Lots of chances to see chefs giving demonstrations and plenty of food to taste.
Thorverton is a very pretty village in the Exe Valley situated half way between Exeter and Tiverton. It has 2 pubs and there are plenty of good local places to eat in the surrounding area.
Exeter is only a 15 minute drive away, although there are regular buses for the village. It has a wonderful cathedral, free 'Red Coat' tours, great places to eat and plenty of shops. There are a variety of theatres, an arts centre and several cinemas.
Up the Exe Valley towards Tiverton is the pretty village of Bickleigh where there is Bickleigh Mill, with shop and restaurant and a small railway centre.
There are plenty of local walks and for those who enjoy cycling there are lots of routes, both on road and on disused railway lines.
Thorverton is ideally situated as it is 20 minutes from the M5 motorway, and Exeter's mainline station is only a 15 minute drive. There are also several buses from the village which go to Exeter and Tiverton.
