"Peaceful gem in the city"
Kingfisher Chalet is a delightful, peaceful place for a holiday or a short break...and the beauty of it is is that it's still in Norwich on the River Yare but you feel as though you are away from… More

"Weigh up the Pros and Cons"
Kingfisher Chalet is situated in a good position beside the waters edge, although not for young children. The road down to it is off the beaten track and very rough, especially after a lot of rain as … More
A TV signal booster has been fitted, and WIFI is exceptionally good, for Iplayer.
The chalet is fitted out with high quality kitchen & dining goods, and hence Dartington glasses are fine, but not cheap.
I cannot guarantee that you can catch big fish, but that you will see much beautiful wildlife, kingfishers & even if your'e lucky otters.

"Lovely stay in lovely accommodation in lovely part of the world."
We really enjoyed our week at Kingfisher Chalet. It was very easy to book and all questions we asked in advance of the owner Stephen were promptly answered. The chalet was spotlessly clean and furnished to a high standard. The kitchen was also very well equipped. It was fantastic waking up in the morning and sitting out on the veranda having a cup of tea. The spot on the River Yare is really beautiful with boats and wild life going past. In the evenings the local rowers and canoeists would race along. It is no bother sharing the boatyard. The kids had great fun opening and closing the gates for the railway line. You can walk to the nearest pub which is about 15 minutes along the river and across the fields. It is very easy to get into Norwich and out to the coast. We went canoeing on the Broads just 15 minutes drive away. We fished every day from outside the Chalet and caught small Roach, Bream and Perch. It is a really lovely spot. It was great to have access to Wifi everyone. We travelled with a 17, 19 and 22 year old ... we all really enjoyed the break and hope to return in the future. Stephen was available if we needed him and the kids thoroughly enjoyed playing with Digby his lovely dog.
Glad to open peoples eyes to the wonders of the Broads, through our well appointed riverside bungalow

"Very good for a newly re-furbished building!"
We were the first to stay in this lovely converted cabin by the River Yare. We had a very friendly greeting by the owners, who took us round the cabin and outside area. It was easy to settle in and the views of the river and wildlife were beautiful. The inside was very clean, and all things like the equipment and cutlery were new and spotless. As this is an on-going project for Stephen, we were told of his plans for the future to improve it even more. He is very hard-working, and a very approachable and pleasant chap.
It was lovely to just sit outside and watch boats and birds pass by, and despite seeming to be in a busy area of the city when you came close to arriving in the car, it is down a long off-road track which lead to lots of trees and plants.
We had a few minor problems, like the wi-fi not reaching the cabin strongly enough, but that was fixed the next day by Stephen installing a booster. He was very eager to help us, and even took the kids out in his own kayak's to let them experience the river.
Watch out for his lovely dog, Digby, you will want to take him home with you!
All in all, it was a top-notch holiday, and we would definitely consider it for next year, just to see what improvements he has made. Very relaxing and away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Big thanks to all our first summers guests who have enjoyed their "gorgeous" riverside relaxing holiday, and kindly helped by fine tuning for the next guests. We are especially looking forward to winter bird watchers & walkers looking for a beautiful place to stay on a Broads Nature Reserve, together with the proximity of the attractions of a fine city.
