Thorness Bay is spread out across fields, framed on one side by the sea with stunning views. With the Park open 12 months of the year and a full entertainment season running from Easter to October Thorness Bay makes an ideal family centered holiday or the perfect base to explore the beautiful Isle of Wight.

The Salisbury is a beautifully spacious, bright and airy (2011 model) 38' x 12' 3 bedroom caravan which sleeps 6 people. It boasts double glazing and full domestic gas central heating.

The kitchen area includes gas oven and hob with separate gas grill, toaster, microwave, kettle, fridge with small freezer compartment and ample crockery and cooking utensils. The adjoining dining area has a pedestal table and 6 chairs.

The lounge area has fixed sofas and a 32" flat screen HDTV with Sky+ with the Sky Variety package (which includes kids, documentaries and music channels) and BOSE single speaker sound unit, wall hung electric flame effect fan heater and beautiful country views including some sea views.

Both twin rooms include a single wardrobe and two wall cabinets for storage.

The main double bedroom has a large double wardrobe and tallboy with drawers as well as bedside cabinets with bedside lights and overhead cupboards so there is loads of storage space. It has a separate door giving Jack and Jill ensuite access to the main shower room which has a large walk-in shower, vanity sink unit and toilet with cupboard over.

There is also a separate cloakroom with WC and sink and cupboard housing the Worcester boiler providing 24 hour hot water and full domestic style gas central heating. Radiators in the lounge, dining area and bedrooms all have thermostatic radiator valves to control how warm the rooms are.

Outside the caravan there is space to have a BBQ and deck chairs are provided for relaxing in the sun. The setting is peaceful and beautiful and perfect for escaping the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The wild birds and rabbits really capture the tranquil setting.

The caravan is ideally suited for families and can accommodate a maximum of 4 adults and 2 children and is non-smoking and we do not allow pets.

The Isle of Wight region

The Isle of Wight is truly a beautiful place for either sailing or family holidays. The Island is one of the best places for Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty with over half the Island being designated covering the south-west and north-west coastal areas including half the coastline and more particularly both the Hamstead and Tennyson Heritage Coast areas.

The Isle of Wight has a wealth of footpaths and bridleways and is reputed to have more footpaths per square mile than any other English county - from a 60 mile coastal path, to easy circular routes, and short town trails - there are over 500 miles of well maintained paths on an island that measures 23 by 15 miles.

The Island is an ideal place for a cycling holiday offering the cyclist dedicated cycleways - many following the course of disused railway lines, signed routes, miles of bridleways and quiet country lanes as an alternative to busy main roads. If you would like details of the Round the Island cycle route, please call Isle of Wight Tourism 01983 813818 and a route map will be sent out to you.

For the family there are two theme parks (Blackgang Chine and Robin Hill), sandy beaches on the south of the Island, pottery painting and the famous Alum Bay. Enough to keep the most active of families amused for weeks.

Special attractions include:

Carisbrooke Castle

Osborne House

Isle of Wight Steam Railway

Robin Hill Adventure Park

Blackgang Chine Theme Park

Alum Bay

Isle of Wight Lavendar Farm

Owl and Monkey Haven

Amazon World

Isle of Wight Zoo

Flamingo Park

Rare Breeds and Waterfowl Park

Planet Ice - Ice Rink

LA Bowl - Ten Pin Bowling

Thorness Bay

Thorness Bay is set in a quiet wooded area overlooking the Solent, with a short stroll to the private beach. It is ideally situated for the world renowned Cowes week in August. You can walk along the coastal path into Cowes town and watch the racing from the promenade.

Thorness Bay Holiday Park is open all year round with the Park activity season running from Easter to October.

Park facilities include an indoor pool* complex with slides, along with amusements and many indoor activities (including WIFI), and outside there are sports courts and adventurer playgrounds etc.

There is a huge entertainment program* for all ages, theme party nights, talent shows, games etc., local bands and cabaret nights. Or if you prefer you can sit on the boathouse restaurant deck and just relax with a drink enjoying the views over the Solent.

The Park also has a Parkmart shop* and a launderette*.

*All Park facilities operate from Easter to October only.

"A charming experience"

The Salisbury was a wonderful place to stay, it was well equipped with utensils, tea equipment and more. The living area was great with sky tv and a charming little electric fire place which gives the property great character.

The rooms were nice and location great, it was just a 2 minute walk to the beach and other town centres are a short drive away. Would recommend this property.

Also thanks to the owner; Helen has a great little place and was very helpful.

"Comfortable, modern caravan on a large wooded holiday park"

Stayed for a very wet weekend in November so didn't get the full benefit of the park, but the caravan is cosy, well appointed and generally well equipped. The full gas central heating and instant hot water were welcome and everything was spotless (apart from the saucepans, which were a bit yucky). The description was accurate, except that there was no TV in the main bedroom. The bedding and towels were of good quality, clean and adequate. Tea, coffee, milk and so on were all provided as promised. Our damage deposit was returned promptly.

One small disappointment with the park management was that our University student son was refused permission to use the park's internet connection very briefly to enable him to download some documents that he had forgotten to bring with him in order to complete an assignment.

"Lovely Caravan"

Just got home from a short stay at The Salisbury
We found it very clean, nicely decorated well stocked withutensils and crockery.
Bedding was immaculate as was towels
We would like to thank Helen for providing the milk tea coffee sugar, after a 7 hour journey with 4 year twins and a 7 year old in the car the first thing I needed was a cup of tea.
Can't really comment on the park facilities has we didn't use them but it was kept clean and tidy.
