Home description
Baan Napa is a villa of immense proportions with cathedral-like teak ceilings, large glass folding doors and marble floors. From the front doors you look through the living room, and across the balcony to a magnificent sea vista that disappears into the horizon.
The living area and master bedroom open onto a large balcony which leads down to the TV room and games room, the guest bedroom block and then onto the large terrace and swimming pool all of which share the never-ending sea views across the Gulf of Thailand. The villa has three bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms, a large living area, fully fitted kitchen with a breakfast bar, TV room and games room with a pool table and table tennis table. All the bedrooms have air conditioning, plasma TV and DVD player. The villa is luxuriously furnished throughout, the beautiful gardens contain a large covered “sala” for dining and at the bottom of the garden is a pathway leading down to the sea. The villa accommodates up to 8 people, and has two resident staff. Included in the price are transfer to and from the port of Thongsala and a daily buffet breakfast. Motorbike and car hire can be arranged.

The Koh Phangan region
Koh Phangan is an island in the Gulf of Thailand in a chain of islands including Koh Samui, the Angthong Marine Park and Koh Tao. The majority of the island is hilly and covered with dense jungle, sloping down to the sea. Bays with white sandy beaches surround the island, some accessible by roads or tracks, some only by boat. The island is quiet and peaceful, the pace of life is slow and relaxing. Attractions Boat trips, either by speedboat or the local “longtail” fisherman’s boats around the island are a great way to see the beaches and hills. Day trips to the Angthong Marine Park are highly recommended. These islands are all well known as diving centres, the diving and snorkeling in this area is considered world class. The island has a number of Bhuddist temples, also some Chinese temples reflecting the Chinese ancestry of many of the island’s original inhabitants. For the adventurous, trekking through the jungle is spectacular, either on foot or on the back of an elephant, the panoramic views are magnificent, the many waterfalls are worth visiting. Spas There are a number of different spas, massage and yoga schools offering daily or residential courses and treatments.
Thong Nai Pan area
Thong Nai Pan Noi and Thong Nai Pan Yai are twin coves that form a scenic double bay and are the most popular beaches in the east and sunrise side of the island. Both beaches are the image of paradise with softly curved white sand bays surrounded by mountains covered in rich tropical rain forest. The surrounding mountains make these beaches fairly inaccessible with a steep and rutted dirt road the only overland option. However, road works have commenced to make it a dual lane concrete road. An alternative way to get there is by boat from Had Rin or Chaloklum.
It is possible to swim at both beaches all year round. There are also some decent waves for body surfing. Both beaches have a bohemian vibe and small villages with cool bars and restaurants. Early risers are treated with breath-taking sunrises.
Thong Nai Pan Yai is the longer of the two beaches and therefore has a larger selection of accommodation. There are numerous walking trails and waterfalls to visit, and Thong Nai Pan Yai also has a decent set of rocks for experienced climbers. This side of the island is still pretty wild, and the surrounding jungle is haven for many exotic tropical creatures.
How to get there
Only 30 minutes by boat from the neighbouring island of Koh Samui, location of the nearest International airport, and with long established boat services to the mainland, Koh Phangan is easily accessible through a variety of transport links.
