This beautiful 2 bed apartment is located in the stunningly scenic Alpine village of Thollon-les-Memises.
Known as “the balcony of Lac Leman”, this quiet village provides majestic views over to Switzerland and beyond. The apartment is just a short walk (200 metres) from the centre of the village and provides a perfect platform to visit Evian, Geneva, Lausanne and the historic world heritage town of Yvoire. The location is well suited to families as it is close to numerous amenities including lake side beaches and swimming pools, water and activity parks and a miniature train museum. Leisure activities include horse riding, paragliding (for the brave) and numerous walks and cycle trails.
In winter, the activities on offer include skiing (ski lift in the centre of village), snow boarding, sledging, tobogganing and maybe even the odd snow ball fight! The 16 pistes and 6 kilomoter cross country track cater for the beginner to accomplished skier and everyone can enjoy a relaxed and laid back atmosphere.
The area is famous for its food and wine. Take the opportunity to meet the friendly and hospitable local people, sample the local wines and cheeses (including the cheese making factory in the village) and visit the local markets.

The Rhone / French Alps / Haute-Savoie region
The Lac Leman area is one of the most popular tourist areas in France. Bordering France and Switzerland the region is home to many famous places including Geneva, Lausanne, Montreux and the picturesque town of Evian. The scenery is breathtaking both in the winter and summertime. In winter the cold temperature provides conditions perfect for skiing, snow boarding and cross country snowshoeing. Warm in the summer, the region is perfect for mountain walks, sailing, swimming in lake Geneva, mountain biking, and exploring the Lac Leman region.
The Haute Savoie region is home to the Savoyard people and the wonderful Savoyard style food, with its fondue (melted cheese) and raclette, local wines and cold meats, all of which provide the perfect way to relax at the end of a long day in the mountains.
On the edge of the Portes du Soliel, you have available one of the largest winter sport areas in the world. The region covers 14 valleys stretched out over France (Haute-Savoie) and Switzerland (The Valais). It offers 650 kilometres of slopes, more than 200 ski-lifts, 243 km of cross-country skiing and 9 snowparks.
Thollon les Memises area
Thollon Les Memises is a beautiful village known as the 'Balcon Du Leman' due to its location overlooking Lac Leman. The views are nothing short of spectacular and coupled with its own 50 Km of ski runs, is said to be one of the most picturesque ski resorts in this area. A Telecabin runs from the centre of the village and takes you up 1600 metres, which is the start of the main ski area. A new ski run allows you to ski back to the village.
In summer Thollon Les Memises is very popular with hikers, cyclists and paragliders. Other activities in and around the village include tennis, table tennis, fishing, horse riding, golf, mountain biking and water sports.
The spa town of Evian is a 10 min drive away. It has numerous beaches, mini-golf, boating, outdoor markets, thermal spa and casino. A superb lake side swimming pool is available in Evian, with heated outdoor pools, tobaggan run, lake side diving pool at a small reasonable cost. It also has some excellent restaurants and shops.
How to get there
Flights to Geneva (Easyjet, BA, Swissair, Aerlingus) Transfers can be arranged at competitive rates. Approx 75mins to Thollon. Car hire available in airport. Train to Lausanne (Switzerland) directly from airport (30mins), bus to Lausanne boat port (2mins), boat across lake to Evian(30mins). This is available as single ticket from Geneva airport. Followed by taxi or transfer from Evian to Thollon (15mins). From Calais(ferry) approx 8 hours

Further details indoors: The apartment is newly built and provides two twin bedrooms (one bed folds underneath to provide extra space during the day). There is a fitted double wardrobe in both bedrooms and the entrance hall has a "coin montagne" which provides plenty of storage space for all guests. There is a lovely bathroom with bath/shower and a separate toilet. The kitchen is fully equipped with a 4 ring hob, oven/grill, kettle, fridge freezer, microwave, George Foreman grill and washer drier. The living area is spacious and comfortable with a colour TV/DVD.. A lift is also available from the basement to the apartment. All beds have Duvet/Quilts and Pillows.
Further details outdoors: The apartment has a balcony perfect for dining al fresco or for glass of wine as the sun goes down. There is a private garage and an additional large lockable storage area for skis and boots in the basement of the apartment. A lift is also available from the basement to the apartment. The apartment is next to fields and trees which provide the perfect setting for all manner of games and adventures whilst there is also a small playground nearby.
