About the home

This beautiful chalet is traditional in style with balconys from the living area and bedrooms looking down towards the lake. It is set in private grounds, has a large open-plan dining and living area with a wood burning fire, a large wrap-around balcony, new kitchen and bathrooms, covered parking, and comfortable beds! It is walking distance from a small convenience store, bakery, tabac, ATM and a short distance from the main town which has restaurants, bars, ski shops etc. It has all the modern amenities including flat screen TV and DVD player, dishwasher and full laundry.

The 4 large bedrooms have wardrobes and all have lovely views up to the mountains or across the lake. The beds are new and linen modern. The kitchen flows though to the large dining table so entertaining is easy. The wood burning fire is easy to use and heats the whole chalet so it's roasting hot in minutes. There's plenty of storage space for skis, jackets etc.

It's large grounds are great for family fun in summer and winter. You can sledge or waterslide depending on the season!

The Rhone / French Alps / Haute-Savoie region

Thollon-les-Mémises is a village and commune in the Haute-Savoie département of eastern France. It has its own ski resort which extends from 1000 metres to 2000 metres. There are 50 km of lift served runs and there are 6 km of cross country trails.

Fly to Geneva (Easyjet, BA, Swissair)
Transfers locally at competitive rates. Approx 75mins to Thollon.
Car hire available in airport (Europcar, National, Alamo, Hertz, Avis)
Train to Lausanne (Switzerland) directly from airport (30mins), bus to Lausanne boat port (2mins), boat across lake to Evian(30mins). This is available as single ticket from Geneva airport. Followed by taxi or transfer from Evian to Thollon (15mins).

“Fabulous weeks skiing” We recently spent a week at the Grand Chalet in Thollon Les Memises, there was 10 of us in the party - both adults and children. The facilities were excellent and we did not feel hemmed in at all there was plenty of space for us all to be more than comfortable. The decor and facilities at the chalet were very very good, with a nice mix of modern ameneties and the mountain chalet ambiance. We had just one little mishap, where the electricity was cut off, however this was dealt with promptly by the owners representative in Thollon and by the owners themselves, who I hasten to add live in New Zealand, we weren't inconvenienced too much and the children thought it was really fun to go to bed by candle light, we were more than warm as there is a very efficient wood burning stove in the main area of the chalet. The electricity was put on again the following morning so no harm done. I would recommend this chalet to anyone who would like to spend a week with family and friends in the winter for skiing or even the summer for mountain and lakeside activities.

“Great” There's not many places about that would sleep all ten of us (family) so when we found this one we thought great. We spent a week Sking. The house was lovely perfect for us they had every thing we needed. The distance from the house to chair lifts ok but would need a car as to far to walk all the way. Kids had a fantastic time in the the very big garden area. Lovely place to come back to after a long day out about. Lovely views from the balcony. Just nice that we could all stay together and everything we needed was there.

“An excellent stay in a beautiful place and in a very comfortable chalet” Hello, we really had a very good stay in the grand and little chalets with my family (10 people). There is a lot of room, and absolutely all what you can expect for a winter holiday, kitchen well equiped, a washing machine, a dryer machine... There is also a garage and a large garden where children can play. To conclude, this area is ideal in winter for skiing with the family when the children are young. You will see very beautiful panoramas on the lake and on the mountains. Laurent (from France)

Arrival and departure day is usually Saturday (open to discussion). 100 Euros is payable locally to the housekeeper/keyholder for cleaning on departure. This includes all bed linen and towels for the chalet.

A refundable deposit of £200 is required upon booking. This sum will then be held as a breakage deposit and will be fully refunded upon departure from the chalet, after inspection. Payment due 8 weeks in advance unless agreed otherwise.

Cancellation policy:

Cancellation 29 – 56 days before arrival date – 50% of paid rental refunded.

15 to 28 days before arrival date – 25%.

0 to 14 days before arrival date – 10 %
