Home description
Occupying the whole top floor of this small chalet style block, Les Girolles is ideal for both winter and summer vacations. Les Girolles is a modern, spacious, 3 bedroom, 2 shower, 2 w/c apartment situated in the centre of Thollon Les Memises within easy walking distance of village amenities including supermarket, cable car to ski station, ski/bicycle hire, tourist office, cafes and bars. Sitting room, master bedroom and bedroom 2 all have doors opening onto large sunny balcony - great for alfresco breakfast. Additional amenities: garage, cave and allocated parking. We are happy for guests to use our sledges stored in the garage at own risk (there's a great slope for sledging just behind Les Girolles).
The village is a small, family orientated ski resort in the winter and in the spring and summer there is so much to do we still haven’t done it all in 4 years of visiting the area.

Activities: Good skiing - direct access to 50km downhill piste with 14 individual pistes & 18 ski lifts plus snowboarding, hiking, biking, pool and safe lake swimming at the fantastic outdoor Centre Nautique, rafting the Dranse, water sports on the lake, fishing, golf at the Evian Championship course, gambling at Evian’s famous casino, pampering at the world famous Evian Spa, paragliding, and last but not least Evian Mini-golf (a family favourite).
Culture: Evian (10 mins), elegant lakeside town from the Belle Époque with lakeside walks, Evian water visitor centre, casino, spa, outdoor swimming, shops, cafes, bars, safe play areas, beautiful gardens and fountains. Geneva (60 mins) with shops, theatres, museums, parks, festivals. Medieval Lausanne across the lake fantastic for sights and shopping. Montreaux (20 mins), music festivals, ancient Chateau Chillon. Yvoire (20 mins) - Traffic free medieval village, now a World Heritage Site.
Thollon les Memises area
Thollon Les Memises is a traditional Savoyard village clustered at the foot of the impressive Memises mountain range. Excellent local baker, supermarket and launderette etc. in village, plus range of restaurants. Larger Supermarkets 10 minutes drive away, banks in Evian. Stunning Alpine walks in all directions. How to get there
8.5 hour drive from Calais (inc. 2 stops) - straight run. Flights to Geneva airport with Easyjet from UK airports flights to Lyon from UK airports. Pick up car hire on French side of Geneva airport - owners recommend Budget car rental. I hr drive from Geneva (new Thonon bypass now open!!).

Further details outdoors: There is a safe lawned area to the rear of the apartment, ideal for children's games or sunbathing. We also have an allocated parking space and a garage. Fantastic walks can be started from the door - details of walks for all abilities available from Tourist info. Cable car operates summer and winter - go to the top for the most amazing views of Lac Leman and enjoy a drink in the ski station cafe.
