Set in the Livradois Forez National Park surrounded by forestry and mountains, this is the perfect place for relaxing. Just 10 minutes from the A89 autoroute but you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere.

Shops, bars and restaurants are just 5 minutes down the road, and there are numerous outdoor activities within easy reach including walking, mountain bike trails, lakes, swimming, quad biking etc.

Clermont Ferrand, famous for its volcanic mountain range (visible from Bonjean) is 45 minutes drive, and nearer to home is Thiers well known throughout europe for its knife making history. Further afield are the big city attractions of Lyon which is just an hour and a half drive.

In the winter, the local ski slopes are 50 minutes away.

The Limousin/Auvergne region

The Livradois Forez national park boasts a vast area of natural forest full of wildlife such as deer, birds and even wild boar.

Outdoor activities are abundant both in and around the forestry. There are numerous natural and man made lakes nearby where one can relax, picnic or swim.

Thiers is famous for its 500 year old knife making industry.

Clermont Ferrand and the surrounding plains are dominated by the Puy de Dome dormant volcano. The spectacular volcanic range is visible from miles around provides a stunning backdrop to the vibrant city.

The Gite is set in a pretty hamlet with lovely forest walks and spectacular scenery from the front door. In fact the GR3 walking route goes straight past the Gite. The village of Chabreloche is 5 minutes down the hill and has numerous shops including 2 Boulangers (bakeries) for fresh croissant and pain au chocolat in the mornings.

"Idyllic"
