The Macedonia region

Located within northern Greece (Central Macedonia) and the second-biggest of all the Greek cities, after only Athens, Thessaloniki is often referred to as the country's cultural capital. Also known as 'Salonica', Thessaloniki is the perfect place to indulge yourself in all kinds of luxury and treats, with superb shopping, fine dining, a spirited nightlife, some quality museums, and plenty of concerts and events, especially during the summer season.

The are a number of sights which really do enhance the overall appearance of Thessaloniki, namely its historical White Tower, Byzantine city walls, traditional Greek architecture, and its pretty waterfront, which is lined with cafes and shops. For the latest in the way of tourism, Thessaloniki's tourist information centre is on hand and resides within the Makedonia passenger terminal of the port, next to the Ladadika district.

There are plenty of attractions within Thessaloniki to keep even the most avid and energetic sightseer fully occupied during a holiday. However, Thessaloniki is conveniently close to many other Greek attractions, which lie just a short distance outside of the city itself.

Close by are the sandy beaches around the Halkidiki Peninsula, a large choice of recreational attractions at Mount Olympus, and some ancient remains at Pella. Also close to Thessaloniki and now listed as a World Heritage attraction, the Royal Tombs of Vergina are located alongside the remains of an expansive palatial complex, and not to be missed.

"Very good rental"

Rental was very good. You can find everything you want. Moreover there were some interesting spices and teas. We have also found some food in kitchen boxes :) Owner is kind, hospitable. We had no problem with the owner. We went to beach and it had blue flag. On the other side there are 2 important imperfection for us. 1-Wifi, 2-Washing machine. We have been using vodafone internet from Greece. And we had washed our clothes in Athens. So they were not affected us too much. If you want to stay for a long time than consider them.
