Centrally situated to the Poitou wine route, 20mins from the medieval walled town of Parthenay and 45mins from Futuroscope theme park or the picturesque Marais Poitevin.Take a day out to visit the Cognac distilleries, the exotic birds and animals at Chauvigny or the historic cities of Poitiers and Niort.
With pretty villages, winding rivers & vineyards to explore, good restaurants & hypermarkets with wonderful food and wine your perfect holiday is ensured.

The Poitou-Charentes / Vendee / Deux Sevres region

Reputedly the second sunniest place in France the Poitou-Charente has many beautiful and historic villages and towns, all worthy of a visit, including La Rochelle on the west coast, Thouars to the north and Niort and Cognac to the south.

In the Deux Sevres region the River Thouet meanders through the Vallee du Thouet from Thouars to Parthenay passing through many beautiful villages, all with their own riverside bars and restaurants.
The medieval walled town of Parthenay (just 25 mins away) hosts a Games festival, Jazz festival, and Traditional Music festival. Also an extensive street market every Wednesday.

Thenezay area

The village of Thenezay, only 2km away, provides all the shops, bars and restaurants to serve several smaller villages and hamlets in this beautiful rural area of the Deux Sevres and the bustling Sunday morning market is a social occasion for locals and visitors as well as an opportunity to purchase French food at its best.

The area is perfect for cycling or walking and there is a forest, open to the public, just outside the village where, if your lucky, you may spot some deer or a wild boar.
The area is also famous for its goats cheese and Thenezay hosts the annual Goat Festival.

Ryanair, Stansted to Poitiers airport - 35mins drive. Car hire at airport.
BMIbaby, Manchester to La Rochelle - 1hr 40mins. Car hire at airport.
Jet2, Leeds Bradford to Paris and TGV to Poitiers. Free link from airport to station at Paris. Car hire at Poitiers.
Ferries to Caen or St Malo then 4.5hr drive (mostly motorway).
Ferry or Eurotunnel to Calais then 6hr drive (mostly motorway).

- 10% deposit required to confirm booking ( non refundable).-Balance payable 6 weeks prior to arrival.
- Refundable breakages deposit of £100 required on arrival, to be refunded within 2 weeks of your departure(subject to satisfactory property inspection).
- A well behaved dog is allowed but sorry, no cats.
- Smoking outside only please.
