Our apartment in Chalet Alba is a new building (2007), situated just 1 minute walk to the gondola which takes you up to the centre of Meribel (Chaudanne) and 1 minute walk to the “Grand Spa des Alpes” (biggest spa centre in the Alps), shops, casino, bars and restaurants.

Recently obtained the 4 star rating from the Prefecture.

This superior brand new accommodation has a generous floor space (65 sq meter), 2 balconies with lovely views of the mountain, and comfortably sleeps up to 6 people. It is ideal for families, couples, or a small group containing both skiers and non skiers. Private car space in the garage available, subject to availability.

Brides-les-Bains is a cosy village located on the edge of the Vanoise National Park, at an altitude of 600m, and has all the charm of a genuine mountain village.
This thermal and SPA resort was chosen to host the Olympic Village for Albertville Olympic Games in 1992, and became a gateway to the world’s largest skiing range known as Les 3 Vallées, thanks to a gondola(inaugurated then) which brings you in 25 minutes in Meribel (Chaudanne) at 1600m. (open from 8.30 til 5pm or 5.30pm)
Brides’s geographical location makes it the perfect point of departure for skiers to explore all of the resorts in La Tarentaise.
This spa village (leading slimming spa resort in France) has successfully maintained the appeal of a cosy resort with its simple and relaxed atmosphere.

You will find everything you need to enjoy a great holiday: shops, casino, disco, cinema (2 screens, 1 french and 1 in the original language), pubs and restaurants, all services are within 5 min walk, and the village is animated all year round. The Club Equilibre (the resorts events club.) offers a wide range of sporty, fun and cultural activities and cater for all ages. Further details indoors:
Our apartment has 2 bedrooms (1 with a double bed, the other one with 2 single beds + balcony), 1 bathroom, a separate toilet, and a spacious open plan living/dining/kitchen area (+ balcony).
The brand new fully fitted kitchen is bright and modern (with dishwasher), while the rest of the apartment is decorated in the traditional French alpine spirit, with warm colours, and old wood furniture.

The entire apartment is decorated and furnished to a high standard and offers great comfort, and will make you feel at home away from home. The lounge area includes 2 large sofas - one of which converts into a sofa bed - and can comfortably sit 6 people. The dining area can also sit 6 people. The apartment caters for children; a cot and a high chair are also available on request. A Playstation 2 (which also works as DVD player) is available with a small selection of games and movies, and 2 children small chairs.
The bedrooms contain comfortable wooden beds, 1 big wooden cupboard in one room, and one chest of drawers in the other.
You will certainly appreciate picking your towel up from the towel radiator after soaking those tired muscles in a bath, or after your shower. A glass panel enables you to shower comfortably without wetting the rest of the room.

Further details outdoors:
The Chalet ALBA is greatly located in a quiet area off the main street, and offers all the amenities at less then 2 minutes walk (including the ski hire shops).
Once you download the boot of your car on arrival, you can park for free in the covered public car park for the rest of your stay (30 seconds walk from the apartment), or else just outside the chalet where there is limited parking space available. There is possibility to rent a private car space in the Residence garage, subject to availability, please enquire.
For those skiing, just take your skis out of the secure ski locker located at the ground floor of the Chalet Alba and walk for less than 1 minute to the gondola. Free coffee, tea and hot chocolate are kindly offered by the tourist office two mornings a week during the winter season. You are then 25 minutes away from the best ski area in the world, in the centre of Meribel (Chaudanne).

Children facilities are located at the gondola arrival up in Meribel: The crèche “Les Saturnins” caters for toddlers aged 18 months to 3 years. The kindergarden “les Piou-pious” caters for children aged 3 to 5 years.
The ESF (Ecole du Ski Francais) classes meeting point are also located at the gondola arrival.
The gondola “Telecabine de l’Olympe” is open every day from December to April between 8.30 am and 5pm, and until 5.30pm from February onwards.
You have the possibility of booking your ski passes, ski lessons and spa treatments online when planning your holiday - contact us for more details.

On the other hand, if you are not a ski fan, the Spa is a short walk, or if you want to take it easy and take in the lovely views and warm atmosphere of an animated traditional alpine village, you have on your doorstep access to a variety of shops, restaurant, tea rooms, a cinema and even a casino. The SPA offers an extensive range of treatments (massages, relaxation, beauty, a la carte treatments), and is just 1 min walk away.

In summer you can wonder around “le parc des thermes”, the park is surrounding the Spa centre, you can sit on a bench under a tree to read a book or just relax and take the gorgeous views in...
The market is on every Wednesday morning from Spring.
Also, in summer the resort offers an outdoor swimming pool (June to mid-September).
There is also the Meribel Olympic park (swimming pool, ice rink, bowling), and Water Park 8km away in Aigueblanche. A comprehensive list of activities and excursions is available from the local tourist office.

There is so much to do all year round, this friendly resort really has something to please everyone and for all ages. Located at a lower altitude (600m), you will find it cheaper and more laid back than the huge high altitude resorts. It is also very easy to access by car, train or plane ( Lyon, Geneve, Chambery and Grenoble airports all within 150 km radius from the apartment).

In a nutshell, our Chalet Alba apartment is superb value and a perfect base for both skiers and non skiers, offering the best both worlds, with the gondola and the Spa Centre on your doorstep.

We were pleasantly surprised by the space in the apartment. We had a great time skiing up in Meribel, and it was a pleasure to come back to a very spacious, comfortable and homely accommodation after a hard day on the slopes. The kids loved the twin bedroom and the Playstation. We are glad we discovered this resort, which offers everything a family can possibly want, and at a reasonable price. We will come back.
