The Yorkshire region

Scarborough with its two beautiful beaches has a lot to offer. The town centre, harbour, castle and Peasholm park are all within easy walking distance of Holly cottage. The Stephen Joseph theatre, the Futurist and Spa theatres have events all year round, and the new open air theatre is hosting to name but a few Leona Lewis, Olly Murrs and Status Quo this year. Take a speedboat trip round the harbour, or browse the arcades on the south shore. Visit the sea life centre and the newly opened excellent mini golf course.

There is a wealth of restaurants of all kinds, several supermarkets, and the end of the line railway connects to York and beyond.

Further afield we have the North York moors with pretty villages, and the north york moors railway from Pickering to whitby.

Within driving distance you can visit. Castle Howard, flamingo land, Bridlington, whitby and Filey, The North York Moors railway runs from Pickering to Whitby throughout the Summer. Pickering is only a half hour drive away.

Eden camp near Malton is a half hours drive. Robin Hoods Bay and Runswick Bay. Are well worth a visit.
