Villa | 4 bedrooms | sleeps 8
Annousa's House is a beautifully restored stone-built village house, full of character and history. A place to relax and soak up the beauty and tranquillity around you.
Enjoy each other's company without feeling on top of one another! The open and airy living room with free broadband WiFi and cable TV, three different seating areas and fully equipped kitchen area, the four well-appointed bedrooms sleeping eight (and up to ten with the addition of a cot and/or child's bed), the three bathrooms (two en suite): all combine to make Annousa's House the ideal holiday home for a large family, two families or a group of friends.
The large front balcony looks westwards over the sea, which lies just 2 km down from the house's location in the peaceful mountainside village of Kallirahi on the island of Thasos. The view encompasses the sunset over the seascape as the sun drops behind the distant mountains of the mainland to the west. To the left, the steep slope of Petrolaki refreshes your senses with a riot of greens from olive trees, kedros oak, overrun vines and wild herbs. Enjoy a glass of wine on the balcony and absorb some of the peace and beauty around you.
At the back, a part-shaded courtyard provides an al fresco living area, complete with old oven which can be used for barbecues.
Thasos is the “emerald isle” of the Aegean Sea. Pine forests and olive groves sweep down to the brink of the crystal clear sea. Wild thyme gives purple hues to the roadside. The island has something for everyone: sea and mountain, archaeology and neon night life. Mountain biking, horse riding, sail surfing are all offered close by.

About this location
Northeast Aegean Islands region
The Aegean Islands are renowned but a less well known one nestles close to the northern coast, only a 35-minute ferry trip away from the mainland and Kavala Airport.
Thasos is the “emerald isle” of the Aegean Sea. Pine forests and olive groves sweep down to the brink of the crystal clear sea. Wild thyme gives purple hues to the roadside.
Thassos has something for everyone: sea and mountain, archaeology and neon night life.
Beaches, long and sandy or little coves, lace the island's coastline. Many are organised with sunbeds, bars and plenty of water activities. Others are relatively unfrequented. The sea, turquoise blue, takes your breath away.
The island’s 'interior', the pine and olive covered mountains will also enchant the walker, painter, photographer, in short any lover of nature.
The ancient theatre and other venues offer a variety of entertainments, from ancient Greek drama to rock concerts. A vibrant night life can be found along the coast from Kallirahi in the tourist centres of Limenas, Limenaria and Potos.
The village of Kallirahi itself is off the beaten track. A "living" Greek village, the rythm of life is gentler, if no less hard work. Local olives and olive oil and the famous Thasos honey (from pine and thyme) are the principle local products. The village is a tranquil haven. Pop onto the square for a bite to eat at lunch time or in the evening, when Morfoula will serve you freshly grilled meats.
Only two kilometres from the coast, one can easily drop down to Skala Kallirahi for a swim, followed by a glass of beer or an ouzo next to the sea, served with appetizers. Or go to one of the neighbouring villages where you can find mountain biking, horse riding, sail surfing, etc.!
The local bus goes round the island, dropping you off at the best beaches and pretty villages. Or you can easily hire a car or bike to get around and about.
