The development of Almina is considered by many to be the most exclusive and sought after in the Marina Smir area. Established detached villas make up the main part and a small number of recently built apartments blend well within the exotic gardens. It is all adjoining the beach and sea.
The apartment itself is on the first floor. A large spacious living/dining room leads out to the terrace with its views over the gardens and sea.
The large main double bedroom also has excellent sea views and an attractive en-suite bathroom. There are two further double/twin bedrooms and a large family shower room.
The kitchen is well sized and is well equipped if you prefer to cook for yourselves and stay at home for an evening. A small rear terrace accessed from the kitchen is in addition to the main front terrace and accommodates the washing machine, tumble dryer and beach furniture.
The apartment is 130 sq metres, so there is a good sense of space and separation for guests unusual in an apartment on one floor.
There is a swimming pool in the gardens on the beach front, overlooking what is effectively a private beach. There is a tennis court, a well stocked shop which is open until at least 1.00am at night and there is 24 hour security to the site. In the summer months there is also a Pizza Restaurant open located adjacent to the entrance and the shop.

The Tangier/Rif Mountains region
This is a wonderful area of North Africa, yet set so close and accessible to Europe. It ranges from the International City of Tangiers to the ancient Moroccan towns of Tetouan and Chefchouan.
The area retains its Berber and Moroccan traditions, whilst moving into the 21st Century with modern infrastructure and attitudes.
Tetouan / Tamuda Bay area
The beautiful harbour of Marina Smir, with its array of boats and yachts, is close by at approximately 2 km, a short drive or walk along the beach. Surrounding the Marina are a number of restaurants bars and shops that make this a very lively place in summer. Le Relais de Paris has just recently opened a restaurant in the Marina, contributing further to its attractions. Whilst this is a Muslim country, as with Marrakesh, alcohol is available at most venues. Marina Smir is very popular in July and August and whilst It is being said that Marina Smir is the new Puerto Banus, it is far more refined and quiet.
Next to the Marina is the 5* Hotel Soffitel. This has beautiful gardens, pool and an excellent spa that is very reasonably priced for massages, facials and other beauty treatments. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, an excellent place to go for lunch and lie by their pool for the afternoon. Dinner also is excellent.
The local towns of Fnideq and the Fishing Village of Mdiq are within a few kilometres. Both are excellent for local markets and excellent Spanish and fish restaurants.
Tetouan is approximately 20 minutes to the south. It is a UNICEF protected site and is one of the oldest Medinas in Morocco. It is fascinating and wonderful to walk around.
Ceuta is only 15 minutes to the North, the Spanish town opposite Gibraltar. It is easy to cross the border into "Spain" but you cannot take a hire car through, but it is only £4 - 5 taxi from the border to the town centre. This duty free town specialises in jewellery and fashion shops, including Zara and Cortes Inglese. It has its own harbour, waterpark and many restaurants.
The ancient town of Chefchouan is approximately 45 minutes to the south, a wonderfully interesting town with a host of restaurants and shops.
Tangiers is less than an hours drive, the majority by motorway. The roads in this area are excellent and there are no worries with driving. Tangiers is an exciting cosmopolitan city with modern areas and a huge Medina, offering many antique, gift, clothes and accessory shops. Not to mention the many restaurants and Riads, now with International reputations.
Shopping for food is easy from the local shops and markets. If it is preferred there is "Marjane" on the outskirts of Tetouan, approx 30 minutes away. This is part of the French supermarket chain, it is huge and sells everything you could need from electricals, hardwear through to all foodstuffs and beers wine and spirits.
Other Attractions in the Area include:- ~ Smir Aqua Park - opposite Hotel Soffitel, Smir ~ Scuba Diving from Marina Smir ~ Horse Riding at Cabo Negro (15 min drive) ~ Golf - Royal Golf, Cabo Negro (15 min drive} ~ Club Med - for which day tickets can be bought to include all activities. (1 km) ~ Waterpark - Nr Tangiers (30 min drive) ~ Many other golden beaches
How to get there
You can fly to Tangiers or Gibraltar.
Easy-Jet fly Gatwick to Tangiers with a transfer at Madrid, a very economical way to get to the area. Atlas Blue is also worth checking on for the summer months. There are also BA and Royal Air Maroc to consider.
Monarch and Easy-Jet fly to Gibraltar. From Gibraltar, take a short taxi ride to the port of Algeciras to cross the Straights of Gibraltar to Ceuta.
There are sailings between mainland Spain and the North African coast approximately every half hour during the day. Ferries take just under the hour and are reasonably priced for both cars and foot passengers.

Beach towels are not provided, please bring your own.
Please do not use the apartment towels for either the beach or swimming pool.
Cleaning and linen change at the end of your holiday are included in the price, however if you require these also mid term please contact our agent who will make the arrangements.
A deposit of 25% is required on booking and the balance payable 6 weeks prior to departure, or immediately if booking is made within 6 weeks of departure date. A refundable security deposit of £150 is required against breakages and damage which will be refunded within 10 days of return of the apartment keys to us providing our agent has found everything to be in order after checking the apartment inventory.
