Food can be delivered to the apartment before your stay by arrangement - let us know what you would like to have in the fridge! You could just relax and soak up the sun on the loungers by the pool, or on the balcony. Within a few minutes walk there are excellent restaurants, a fish cafe and pizzeria. A good riding stable is also very near, play tennis on the complex court, or golf nearby- or take a stroll to the beach.
Club Mediterranee is just beside the beach and the facilities can be enjoyed on a day ticket. Expeditions further afield can be arranged, with or without a qualified guide.
With a hired car, you can slip into M'Diq to buy sparking fresh fish or vegetables in the market, eat at the outside cafe tables for very low prices and watch the world go by, or sip a drink at the elegant hotel bar by the shore.

In the summer the beach at Martil has a festival and is a lot of fun, with performers and camel rides.
A huge supermarket, Marjane, is ten minutes drive, you can get any food, and there are also cafe's, clothes shops and a pharmacy. Alcohol is served to non Muslims in most hotels and larger restaurants, and can be bought at the supermarket at prices similar to England. There is a fish market, meat market and lots of outside stalls at M'diq for super fresh food and vegetables, as well as banks, pharmacy and so on.
Tetuan with its UNESCO world heritage site medina is twenty minutes. We can recommend an excellent guide to the Medina who will show you the bread ovens and hammams and fascinating shops and markets.
Golfing, riding, bicycling and watersports are available, though swimming in the warm Mediterranean waters so near takes a lot of beating.

Apart from the local attractions mentioned earlier, this is an excellent place to explore from.
The inland hills are beautiful and an outstanding destination is Chefchouan, the 'blue town' of twisting streets and fascinating corners. Fossils and hand made crafts cn be bought and there are plenty of places to eat delicious food..
Tetouin, the regions capital is 20 minutes drive away a vibrant city of contrasts, from ancient medina to sophisticated new areas and the memories of the Spanish government, and shops and museums well worth exploring!
Ceuta is a duty free shopping area with historic Spanish sights, lively night life and an immense aqua park- only half an hour away.
Why not take a day ferry trip to Gibraltar and explore an interesting and complety different world?
Butr you will probably find it difficult to tear yourself away from the delights in the immediate area, where excellent food is a bargain in the restaurants and there is so much to see and do...
People are welcome to smoke on the terrace, but not inside the apartment please.
There are usually gardeners about, they are very happy to carry your luggage, or shopping, to the flat if asked.
Shopping at the nearby Marjane supermarket is very easy- no language skills required and absolutely everything is sold there! There is an amazing variety of wonderful pottery sold just down the road, at bargain prices. Buying fresh food in the m Diq markets from the people who grow it is interesting,
Moroccans are very pleasant friendly people who are interested to meet visitors: this is a wonderful place for a family holiday. Apart from mid summer it is fairly quiet, acres of golden beach and clear clean warm sea. It is a bird watchers paradise at migration seasons.
Mid summer it is very busy, many amusements, camel rides, jugglers, curiosity sellers and music makers.
The Tangier-Tetouan Region
The Meditteranean coast of Morocco is a secret kept by Moroccans! Golden sands stretch for miles, the sea is clear and clean and full of delicious fish that are sold in local markets and fish restaurants far below the Spanish prices. Moroccans flock there in mid summer when it is full of life and amusements - water park, camel rides , trinket sellers, magicians, camel rides, beaches swept daily and promenades full of happy holiday families.
Outside those six weeks it is much quieter, bird watchers find it amazing when the birds migrate from Africa to Europe, but for non experts it is fun just watching the storks nesting on high places. The seaside is clean and organised, the mountains feel unchanged for centuries with shepherds guarding the sheep.
People are free to walk anywhere and Moroccans are friendly and interested in meeting visitors. tip- dress conservatively away from swimming areas out of respect for Moroccan culture. Most Moroccans do not drink alcohol, but hotels have bars for non Muslims, larger restaurants provide alcohol,it can be bought in the supermarkets at prices a bit lower than Britain.
There is a thalassotherapy centre not far away where you can go for a day's pampering and all beauty treatments. Or go for a Moroccan massage at the natural remedies centre in Tetouan.
The nearest town, five minutes drive, is M'diq, which has many restaurants and a few small hotels, one with a night club.
M'diq is a great place for an informal meal of fish or meat kebabs on the pavement cafes, with a green salad and a cold drink for very low prices. Separate cafes sell cakes and coffee, ot there much larger ones overlooking the beach where you can sit on the first floor and watch the fishing boats while eating well served and varied mieals.
Marina Smirr, is further down the coast: a sophisticated marina with cafes where you can sit and admire the yachts - and there you can arrange scuba diving and other water sports. Near there is the water park, full of tubes and splashes and a particularly good section for non - swimming smaller children. Fairground activities, a big wheel and other attractios are nearby.
Tetouan is a white town, it reflects its Spanish heritage in the modern part. In the centre is the ancient Medina, it remains unchanged, unlike Marakech, full of winding streets and markets, bread ovens, hammams and tiny shops. It is a World Heritage site and absolutely fascinating to visit- we can give you the name of a fully qualified guide who will take you to the places that interest you and tell you the history- and not try to make you buy anything you do not want to! Of course if you do want anything, he knows the best places.
