L'Hamel Riche is a lovely barn cottage with five double bedrooms so lots of room for several families and their children. We went for a say in October half term as the children were studying WW2 and we wanted them to experience where it was they were learning about. Everything is very close by, most trips took us 40 mins or so to reach our destination. Loads of space in the garden for the kids to run round madly and work off their boundless supplies of energy. The living room has a large open fire which we lit every night and it made the lounge ever so cosy. Huge table in the kitchen, with this heated with a woodburner. We were a two family group with parents and kids, we'd looked at lots of properties, but loved L'hamel Riche for the sapce it gave us, the location and the cost was amazing! The cottage is down a lane which is used by large farm vehicles and it can be boggy after lots of rain which was fun navigating in a BMW with its wheels spinning, but we managed fine. In summary, for a short stay in a great area, L'Hamel Riche is a lovely cottage, big enough to accomodate multiple groups, spacious enough for the kids to explore the surrounding area, and really well priced. We feel like we have 'done' Normandy for the moment, but if we wanted to return to the area we'd happily use the cottage as a base again. |
