The Larnaca region
Larnaca is an interesting mix of commercial hub and tourist destination, The wide palm tree-lined promenade leads on to a well maintained beach with good facilities and water sports. Behind this is a mix of bars, traditional restaurants and fast food chains. Beyond the historic medieval fort is the fishing port a stretch of sea front restaurants leading to Mackenzie beach. Away from the beach, there are several shopping streets with local and pan-European chain stores. There is also a choice of late-night bars and clubs.
The main roads in Cyprus are very good and they drive on the left, of course, and it is easy to drive to any of the towns and beauty spots, all within an hour.
The Tersefanou area
Tersefanou is a rural town, surrounded by farms. In the centre (about 10 minutes walk from the apartment) there are two restaurants and a well stocked local supermarket. There are two large supermarkets located within a 10 minute drive at which you can stock up with all your essential supples.
The town of Kiti, about 2km away has a wider selection of bars and restaurants as well as a bank (ATM), pharmacy, and an ancient church, dating back to the 11th Century. Just beyond the town centre is the closest stretch of beach to the apartment - about a 10 minute drive.away.

Elysian Fields Spa Resort, a short drive from Larnaca International Airport, served by several low cost airlines (EasyJet, Monarch) as well as BA and Aegean Air, Car Hire recommended although taxi from the Airport is available for around 15 euros. Avis have airport presence, but http://www.economycarhire.com/ works well for us with all-inclusive pricing that is hard to beat.

We travelled with our grown up children, the apartment was a perfect size, and very clean. Onsite is a bar, with sports TV and the food is of restaurant quality.There is an excellent large pool. We didn't use the spa but it is very well equipped with different treatments.
Tersefanou is an up and coming area, it has its own restaurants and supermarkets, Kiti is a larger area and is not far away about 2 km, you can walk there. You will need a car in Cyprus if you want see the island,
I would recommend this apartment, for a relaxing holiday (no need for a car if you just want to stay local) it is also ideal as a base for travelling around Cyprus. We had a lovely time and would definitely return again. Overall cheaper for a group / family, than a hotel, the apartment, I would rate on par with a 4 star hotel, with its facilities and great little touches from the owners.
The local agent is English and was very friendly and professional, the whole process was very easy and the owner's communication was excellent.
