This renovated old stone farmhouse is on the edge of an historic village, in an area of outstanding natural beauty . The village has a small shop, post office, petrol pump and bar. The house is tastefully decorated with period furniture to provide a comfortable homely, all year round base, with all conveniences. The accommodation includes a large open-plan lounge/dining area with an American-style kitchen and original stone sink. All the bedrooms have exposed beams and the double bedroom has an en-suite shower room with hydro-jet shower.
The property is ideally situated for those wishing to explore the history of the Perigord Noir and the unspoilt natural tranquility of the Correze countryside.Guests have exclusive use of the grounds, well equipped games room and pool.

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Dordogne region

Hot and sunny in June, July and August with temperatures up to 40C. The elevated position of the property means that a welcome breeze provides relief during the day. Beautifully warm and sunny in September and October. January and February usually cold and crisp especially at night. At this time the garden is carpeted with wild violets then cowslips. Later, in April and May the days become warm and sometimes hot and the garden has wild orchids. April, May and June are ideal for sightseeing and visiting the numerous prehistoric sites and historic towns and chateaux.
Les Eyzies with its world famous prehistoric museum, the caves of Lascaux and the numerous sites in the Vezere valley are about 40 minutes drive.

Terrasson / Chavagnac area

Sarlat and the medieval towns of Turenne, Collognes la Rouge, Martel important during the times of Richard the Lion Heart and the Hundred Years War are about 40 minutes drive.
The ancient market town of Terrasson with the old town high above the River Vezere is well worth a visit.

Local restaurants with excellent Perigordian dishes. Duck, walnuts and the celebrated Black Truffle and Wines from Bergerac.

* Fly to Limoges - cheap flights from UK . Property is about 1hr 15' easy drive from Limoges airport. Car hire at Limoges airport. Bordeaux is about 1hr 30min drive and Bergerac1hr drive.
Internal flights daily from Paris Orly to Brive Laroche airport. 20 minutes from house
* By Car the A20 motorway is about 4hrs 30' easy drive from Paris.
* Rail from Paris, 4 hours direct line to Brive.

All conveniences in the kitchen with washing machine and freezer in the basement.

The large courtyard provides car-parking space and a terrace for sitting/games area with views over the pool and countryside. There is a large mobile BBQ, patio table and chairs. Various garden chairs in the grounds. Badminton, boules, table tennis, pool etc are available. The sloping garden has a variety of wild flowers depending on the season, trees and shrubs and is open to the fields and woodland beyond. Excellent for birdwatching. There are 2 bicycles for use at own risk. Cycles may be hired at the Nautical Centre of the Lac du Causse, Lissac, 10 minutes drive away.
There are stone walls in the grounds and you are politely requested not to climb on these under any circumstances.

The pool is open from end May to October depending on weather.
Logs are provided for the fire.
Cost of Linen and towels and changeover cleaning are included.
Selection of games equipment is available in the barn.
Sunloungers, picnic table and benches are available for outdoor use.
