The Lazio region

Lazio is in centre of Italy, on the western coast. Rome is of course one of the principal tourist destination in the region, but Lazio is full of archaeological sites. Major temple complexes can be visited in Palestrina and Terracina, where a massive temple overlooks the sea. Wealthy Romans have always liked villas in the countryside, and there are ruins of villas belonging to Roman emperors at Anzio (Nero), Sperlonga (where Tiberius dined in a decorated grotto) as well as Tivoli, where the most luxurious villa of all was built by Hadrian.

The Province of Latina runs for 100 km along the coast, between Rome and Naples, and includes stretches of sandy beach and charming resorts like Terracina, Sperlonga, Gaeta , S.Felice Circeo, Sabaudia beach and the Pontine Islands.

In the midst of the Pontine Plain, there is The Garden of Ninfa a romantic oasis of fertility. Set amongst the ruins of the medieval town of Ninfa, the garden sits, emerald-like, at the feet of the Lepini Hills. Public openings are on the first Saturday and Sunday of each month from April to October; and the third Sunday of April, May and June.

Terracina Mare

Parking is free outside apartment, but is not assigned.

You can rent the car either in Terracina or in Rome airport, if you visit other town or take a bus to Sperlonga, Gaeta, Sabaudia and Circeo. To arrive in Terracina take a Regional train every hour from "Roma Termini central station" with direction to Formia or Napoli centrale then after one hour from Rome you need to get out in Monte San Biagio Station from this station there is an additional bus to Terracina and the apartment is not far from main stop in Terracina.

A lot places to reccomend:

Pizzeria Vesuvio along via Anxur or Pizzeria Ciro and Pizzeria Perugini in Piazza Repubblica, restaurant "Cesare con giardino" or "Sombrero on the beach", for fish you need to try "degustazione take away" in ple Lido, fancy restaurants like Il Caminetto, Bottega Sarra , Restaurant Green next to Roman Forum, for meat and steak do not miss Restaurant Le Muraccia, or for a drink best location is Bar Milano. If you like grilled meat you should go to "Le Muraccia" or grilled fresh fish you should go to "Green" both are at historical site close to Cathedral.

Do not miss best Ice Cream in piazza Mazzini or patisserie like Creme Caramel or Caffe' Somma along Viale della Vittoria. Terracina is well known for best food around area, ask the owner for anything you would like, you even get 1 small pizzeria Antico Forno only 20mt from apartment
