We believe La Vieille Tour (the ancient tower) is the oldest part of Chateau de Senescau, and was once used as a look out point for invasions from the south, this gives it the fabulous views it has today. With 2 bedrooms and situated next to the swimming pool it is a great unit for couples and families alike.

Downstairs the accommodation comprises of a lounge/kitchen/diner with cooking facilities, fridge/freezer, dining table and comfortable seating for 4. The wooden stairs lead to a twin bedroom, a double bedroom and a bathroom with WC, basin and bath with shower over.

Outside there is a terrace with tables, chairs and a bar-b-que.

The Midi-Pyrenees region

Gascony is an area of France steeped in history, with long drowsy summers that often stretch the ‘al fresco’ dining season into November. It lies within the triangle formed between Toulouse, Biarritz and Bordeaux, framed by the Pyrenees, the Atlantic Ocean and the River Garonne. ??Enjoy long leisurely days in an area as yet undiscovered by the masses. The air is the cleanest in Europe and the glowing golden light is quite unlike any you will find elsewhere. Life strolls along at an easy pace. Though less well known than some of its neighbours (and so off the main tourist track), Gascony is ideal for those wishing to see the real France. The low population density and longevity of the residents all set standards for the rest of Europe to follow.

Termes d'Armagnac

Our departement of Gers (pronounced to rhyme with ‘chairs’, but with a soft g at the front) lies at the heart of Gascony. It has been described as France’s secret garden and the soft rolling countryside overflows with sunflowers, fruit and vegetables. There are vineyards tucked in every corner, and direct sales of red, white and rose table wines, Armagnac (arguably superior to Cognac) and Floc (a delicious local speciality of Armagnac with fresh grape juice) abound. ??We are roughly on the same latitude as Nice, so truly in the South of France. The summers stretch into long hot days, when the shady trees and leafy surroundings can be especially welcome. Eating out and sunbathing can start as early as April and continue well into November, though the dramatic changes of weather in spring and autumn occasionally add a spice of interest. The area has so much to offer throughout the year, it isn’t just a hot spot for summer sun baking, though that can be a pleasant pastime ??The people are warm and welcoming, with always a cheerful greeting and a ready smile. Their heritage and culture reflects their friendly yet dashing character. This is the land of d’Artagnan and the ‘Three Musketeers’, where bravery and chivalry are fostered with pride. In our village is a museum to the “Panache Gascogne”.
