A peaceful getaway off a private road in beautiful country but within easy walking distance of the lively historic town centre. Recently opened - Bluebells is already on the BBC accommodation list.
Tenterden, the 'Jewel of the Weald', has excellent pubs, restaurants of varying cuisines, independent shops, antique shops, coffee houses and an independent Chocolatiere. Tripadvisor will give you a good idea of the variety on offer.
National Trust and English Heritage fans are spoilt for choice and there is a variety of lovely walks right from your door. The main station for the Kent & East Sussex Steam Railway is in town (see internet for opening dates). It's great fun whatever your age.
Chapel Down vine yard is down the road ( they supplied wines for the recent royal wedding). The Swan restaurant there is a personal favourite.
'Bluebells' has all the conveniances required for a comfortable stay plus a pool table and a Bremshey running machine in case you have some energy left from your outings. You have all the facilities needed for self catering should you wish. It has a pretty garden with privacy. It is something of a sun-spot where you can take breakfast or barbeque or simply sit. The beautiful Cinque Port - Rye, is less than a 30 minute drive away - a great place to wander, check out antique shops, eat, drink.... Then there is Hastings with its thriving 'boho' old town...London not too far....I could go on.
