About the home
This recently refurbished, luxury second floor apartment is within Tenby's medieval town walls. On the doorstep are shops, restaurants and bars and yet the apartment is quiet and private and is just a few minutes walk from the beautiful beaches, harbour, coastal path and Tenby's 18 hole Golf Course. The apartment is airy and light and there are views over the rooftops towards Giltar Point and the South Beach. The communal garden at the back of the property is enclosed by the medieval town wall. A major convenience is the secure undercover parking for one car, with remote entry. The West Wales / Pembrokeshire / Pembrokeshire region
Pembrokeshire is a magical part of the United Kingdom with an outstanding coastline - recently judged joint second in the world by National Geographic Traveler magazine alongside the Tutukaka Coast in New Zealand. In addition, Lonely Planet has named Coastal Wales the "best region on Earth" to visit in 2012. The county enjoys a mild climate and wonderful light, which is particularly appreciated by artists and photographers.
The county has some of the best beaches in the UK, including the beaches in Tenby, Saundersfoot, Barafundle Bay (voted one of the 12 most beautiful beaches in the world) and Freshwater West, the latter having recently featured in Ridley Scott's "Robin Hood" and both "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" films. More recently, scenes from "Snow White and the Huntsman" starring Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron and Chris Hemsworth, have been filmed at Marloes Sands.
There are lots of opportunities to walk along the coastline, with Britain's only dedicated coastal National Park extending from Amroth to Poppit Sands, a distance of 299 km.
Wales is known for its castles and its dragons! There are 51 forts and castles in Pembrokeshire, including those local to the area around Tenby - Manorbier, Haverfordwest, Picton, Narbeth and Carew castles. You may even find a dragon or two!
In addition to the local castles, you might like to visit Pembroke Castle, the remains of Lamphey Bishops Palace, Bosherston Lily Ponds and St David's Cathedral.

We stayed here for 3 nights over the Easter weekend, and from the picking up of the keys, being shown our own parking space in undercover car park (in Tenby! How cool is that) to seeing the bright, airy apartment for the first time, I can honestly say that nothing let this place down at all. While you are inside that apartment, you feel away from the bustle of Tenby with lovely rooftop views and no noise from street, apart from some seagulls maybe. As soon as you step outside building entrance you are right in the heart of Tenby and we were more than happy to leave the car in its space all weekend knowing it was safe. Really, everything is on your doorstep here. Tesco Express around the corner for your fresh breakfast goodies, or use the cafes and takeaways literally 2 door away. Having said that if you fancy cooking, you will find every implement necessary in the kitchen. There is no dishwasher here, however this wasn't a problem for us and there is a very nice wine cooler instead which was a real novelty for me. The apartment was very clean and looked freshly painted, no scuffs or chips anywhere. The owner has left a very helpful file with instructions for all gadgets (including the remote control for the lights) as well as ideas for places to visit and good places to eat for all budgets. This level of thought has often been missing in other holiday lets I have stayed in, but I am struggling to think of anything which could have improved this one.... maybe WiFi but now I'm really being picky. I would definitely go back |
