Internally, the property is traditionally furnished with a farmhouse kitchen complete with Belfast sink. Externally, the garden, complete with furniture is south facing and enjoys the sun all day.

Cherries Cottage is set in the beautiful countryside of Olchard, an ancient farming hamlet below the Haldon Hills and is surrounded by a number of pretty villages. Ideford and Luton are both within easy reach and benefits from charming pubs serving hearty food. The small market town of Chudleigh is only two miles away with a number of amenities including a bakery, coffee shop, tea room, pubs, greengrocers and a farmers market on Saturday mornings.

A short drive away is the charming Ugbrooke House; home to the Lord Cliffords of Chudleigh. The park was designed by Capability Brown and offers glimpses of Dartmoor, mature trees and pretty landscapes to explore.

The bustling market town of Newton Abbot is nearby. Often known as the gateway to the moors and sea, Newton Abbot provides a great base to explore both the rolling hills of Dartmoor and the many coastal towns.

The seaside towns of Teignmouth, Shaldon and Torquay are only a short drive or train ride away and offer a large variety of beaches many of which have the Blue Flag award. You can also expect to find a large selection of restaurants, cafes, bars and attractions to engage the whole family.

The Devon region

The warm climate and award-winning beaches enjoyed by South Devon have kept it a fashionable holiday resort for many generations. Torquay, Paignton and Brixham make up Torbay, one of the most popular areas for holidays in South Devon, and the area also includes the coastal towns of Dawlish, Teignmouth and Starcross. South Devon holiday cottages position their guests in some of the country's prettiest locations for a break with a continental feel. South Devon hosts dozens of festivals and regattas throughout the whole year. One of the world's oldest shipwrecks was found off South Devon's coast. Pete Goss built his Team Phillips catamaran in Totnes.

Teignmouth is a charming town packed with seaside charm and with a quaint, unspoilt feel and bags of local character. Perfect for a stroll along the Victorian pier or for a lazy day spent relaxing on the long stretches of golden sand, the town is also packed with interesting days out and some charming coastal and country walks.

With some great restaurants and pubs, a host of family-friendly attractions including a small zoo in nearby Shaldon and the fascinating Teignmouth Museum, there is plenty to see and do during your stay. With two great beaches in the town and the charming Shaldon beach nearby, a day on the sand is a must during your stay. July's Teignmouth Carnival and the Jazz Festival in November area also well worth a look.
