The Devon region

Teignmouth

With a classic crescent of Georgian buildings, Teignmouth is a real hidden gem on the South Devon coast – both an historic port and classic seaside resort. With all the traditional attractions of a coastal holiday destination you won't need to venture far to find a promenade, Victorian pier, a lido, shops and parks.

There are two distinct sides to Teignmouth – the sea front and the harbour side. It's this beautiful contrast and the fact that everything is within easy reach that makes the town so special.

The property is located on the estuary side of town, this charming beach takes you back to days gone by. Local fishermen mend nets, sand eels are caught, boats bob up and down with the tide and children splash and play. Watch the sun set magnificently over the River Teign and just watch the world go by. Dogs are welcome all year round.

"Great house - basic but fantastic for family groups, incredible value"

Spacious house with lovely kitchen for family groups. House decor is basic, but has everything you need - plenty of cutlery, crockery and cooking stuff and loved the mismatch of plates and glasses. Th… More

"the house fitted all our needs spacious clean with a lot of character"

I am very pleased your were happy with your stay at No 30, but sorry you found the check out time inconvenient. Generally speaking we are very flexible with regards check out as if there are no follow on bookings we are happy for you to leave when you wish. Unfortunately on this occasion we had another group arriving later that day for check in at 2pm, so needed time to clean and prepare the house for them. Check in and out timings are in the details sent to you and I emailed you the week before to remind you you need to leave by 10am, but I can appreciated it was a struggle after a late night at a wedding!I am sorry for the inconvenience.

"Amazing location, huge rooms, great value, nothing flashbut ideal families."

We had 4 families staying together and we had plenty of space for us all.
Rooms are really spacious with simple furnishing.
Top floor though is like a sauna when it's sunny, no insulation, windows don't open much, could do with a fan or 2 up there, makes it difficult to sleep, especially for kids.
Bring some dark sheets/towels to hang over curtains as they don't keep out much light, one room doesn't have any at all.
Big kitchen, massive fridge. No dining room though, got a couple of benches to eat around, it works, but can be difficult with lots of kids. We ate out or took dinner outside (there's no garden, we used the river beach round the corner).
We loved our stay there, would definitely go back. It's just 30 yards from the working docks which are a great place to hang out in the evening as everyone goes out for a drink as the sun goes down.
The beach is 200 yards away, got a great playground next to it, and lifeguards to watch as you swim.
