The Devon region
Teignmouth is in the heart of South Devon with lots of sea, beaches, restaurants, fun parks and wide range of things to do. It's also close to Dartmoor with amazing scenery and walks.
Some of the most popular destinations on Dartmoor are 'Merrivale Stone Row', 'Wheal Betsy', 'Moorland Moonlight', 'Dartmoor Ponies', 'Childe's Tomb', 'Meldon Reservoir', 'Postbridge', 'Birch Tor', 'Bowermans Nose', 'Belstone Tor', 'Fingles Bridge' and 'Haytor'.
All of these can be found in a leaflet which is available in the Tourist Information Centre in Teignmouth if there isn't one in the house.
Both Plymouth and Exeter are close by if you want some retail therapy.
Teignmouth is a gem of a Victorian seaside resort. Lots of activities for young and old from crazy golf to windsurfer hire. The estuary provides a great place to catch crabs or sail.
There are many walks around the area, all of which have fantastic views and scenery. The most popular walks are on Dartmoor which is about 1hr away.

"Excellent accommodation, beautiful setting, thoroughly enjoyable"
Booking process easy & professional, property was just as described, fantastic atmosphere, views, facilities. Location ideal for coastal trips, trips to Dartmoor, walks. Town easily accessible. We were a family group with teenage children but would equally suit an all adult group.
A wonderful stay

"Yannon Towers Weekend"
Old character packed house perfect for our long weekend house party of 10. Liked the 'shabby chic'' of the main room decor contrasted with the modern kitchen and comfortable bedrooms. The atmosphere was very relaxed and welcoming. The house being located so close to the centre of Teignmouth means it was very handy for restaurants , shops etc and made it easy to have a walk along the coastal path to Dawlish - catching the bus back was easy.

"Happy family week at Yannon Towers"
Yannon Towers is a fascinating place to stay for all age ranges of the family. It has comfortable rooms and the kitchen is well equipped - we cooked meals for 8 of us every night of our stay.
Our age ranges were from 9 to 68 and we all had no problem with the walk to and from Teignmouth, though the return is a fairly steep uphill climb.
Teignmouth is a nice town, though there was a lack of boat trips, and we found the travel to places like Torquay both quick and easy.
Our only disappointment with the house facilities was the length of the grass which meant no cricket and poor football for the young lads.
Thank you for your comments and unfortunately our previous gardener was unable to cut the grass prior to your visit. We now have a new gardener who is cutting the grass on a regular basis :)
