The Devon region
Teignmouth is in the heart of South Devon with lots of sea, beaches, restaurants, fun parks and wide range of things to do. It's also close to Dartmoor with amazing scenery and walks.
Some of the most popular destinations on Dartmoor are 'Merrivale Stone Row', 'Wheal Betsy', 'Moorland Moonlight', 'Dartmoor Ponies', 'Childe's Tomb', 'Meldon Reservoir', 'Postbridge', 'Birch Tor', 'Bowermans Nose', 'Belstone Tor', 'Fingles Bridge' and 'Haytor'.
All of these can be found in a leaflet which is available in the Tourist Information Centre in Teignmouth if there isn't one in the house.
Both Plymouth and Exeter are close by if you want some retail therapy.
Teignmouth is a gem of a Victorian seaside resort. Lots of activities for young and old from crazy golf to windsurfer hire. The estuary provides a great place to catch crabs or sail.
There are many walks around the area, all of which have fantastic views and scenery. The most popular walks are on Dartmoor which is about 1hr away.

"lovely stay in quirky property"
we had a party of ten aged 2 - 83. we all had a great week. kitchen was very well equipped and plenty of space in living room and dining area for us all. the stone stairs to the fifth bedroom in the tower not suitable for small children or elderly. great views from this, and other bedrooms. all the decor was a little tired, everything was very clean and with such a large party we didn't want to stay in a show home. the best recommendation is that we would all happily stay there again.

"Our own castle for the weekend! !"
Stayed at Yannon for a family get together, the place is stunning with all the character you could hope for inc spiral staircase to secluded turret room, but with the luxury of modern bathrooms and kitchen perfect!!

"Stunning castle experience"
We stayed as a group of 10 adults in the castle for a friends wedding, the place was absolutely spectacular, we spent most of the first night rushing from room to room exploring! The turret bedroom was a fairy tale, and all the other rooms were beautiful. spacious and comfy. There was plenty of space for us all to cook and eat together, and all for amazingly good value.

We had a wonderful stay at Yannon Towers. The building is gorgeous, and it's very good value for money. I would definitely stay there again.

"Excellent accommodation, beautiful setting, thoroughly enjoyable"
Booking process easy & professional, property was just as described, fantastic atmosphere, views, facilities. Location ideal for coastal trips, trips to Dartmoor, walks. Town easily accessible. We were a family group with teenage children but would equally suit an all adult group. A wonderful stay

"Yannon Towers Weekend"
Old character packed house perfect for our long weekend house party of 10. Liked the 'shabby chic'' of the main room decor contrasted with the modern kitchen and comfortable bedrooms. The atmosphere was very relaxed and welcoming. The house being located so close to the centre of Teignmouth means it was very handy for restaurants , shops etc and made it easy to have a walk along the coastal path to Dawlish - catching the bus back was easy.

"Beautiful House to stay in, lovely views."
Had a wonderful comfortable stay in this folly house, pretending I was lady of the manor. Great views from top of tower. Amazingly. though it's big, it's cozy. we will be stay again in future.

"Happy family week at Yannon Towers"
Yannon Towers is a fascinating place to stay for all age ranges of the family. It has comfortable rooms and the kitchen is well equipped - we cooked meals for 8 of us every night of our stay. Our age ranges were from 9 to 68 and we all had no problem with the walk to and from Teignmouth, though the return is a fairly steep uphill climb. Teignmouth is a nice town, though there was a lack of boat trips, and we found the travel to places like Torquay both quick and easy. Our only disappointment with the house facilities was the length of the grass which meant no cricket and poor football for the young lads.
Thank you for your comments and unfortunately our previous gardener was unable to cut the grass prior to your visit. We now have a new gardener who is cutting the grass on a regular basis :)

"Excellant Place to stay"
we stayed at Yannons with Friends and thier children and so we had 4 kids ( 7 to 14) and we all loved the Accomodation It was very atmospheric and the kids loved staying in a Castle with its own winding staircase and battlements ( dont let the kids on the top unattended) The accomodation despite its age was very modern and in keeping with the property and it wasnt lacking any facility in anyway Short walk to town ( be aware its up a hill ) and the Town itself was very nice with good facilities...essence indian restraunt was very good Parking was very easy and Neighbours were nice and helpfull there is a lot of stairs but they arnt a problem but famillies with toddlers may struggle all in all highly recommend the area and Yannon Towers
