This charming, newly renovated, typical Canarian country house is on the edge of the beautiful, ancient town of Teguise. The area oozes character with narrow roads, stunning buildings and a large choice of good restaurants and interesting shops within walking distance. The villa is in traditional style and decorated to a very high quality. It provides a perfect venue for people seeking a holiday in authentic, traditional surroundings with modern facilities.

This lovely villa, parts of which are over 100 years old, is full of charm. It has been superbly restored and extended in keeping with local architecture and has high, beamed ceilings, beautiful tiled floors and is stylishly decorated using very good quality furnishings and warm colours. The elegant, spacious living room has comfortable sofas and an entertainment centre located in an antique cupboard, this includes a TV, DVD and a CD player. There is an impressive, large, country kitchen with a big dining table, modern appliances and doors to the courtyard containing the swimming pool. Casa Luisita has three attractive bedrooms. There are two leading off the livingroom, one has a double bed and the other a large single bed. The third bedroom is off the courtyard and has a double, four poster bed and an en-suite toilet with washbasin. The villa has a shower room with a superb, large, Canarian walk in shower. A sixth person, preferably a child under 12, can be accommodated on a foldaway bed in the single bedroom. Electric radiators for use in winter months are provided in the villa.

The electrically heated 5.5x3 metre swimming pool is located in the totally private and secluded courtyard and is entered by ladder steps. Beside it there is a sunbathing terrace with sunbeds and a large parasol providing an idyllic venue in which to enjoy many hours of out-of-the-way relaxation. A seating area at the front of the villa is the perfect place for al fresco dining and looks out over the surrounding countryside, farming life and towards the beautiful church in the centre of Teguise. It provides a charming view of local life, far from the tourism seen in the main resorts along the coast.

The Canary Islands region

Lanzarote is the most popular all year-round villa holiday destination in the Canary Islands. Only 100 kilometres from the coast of Africa, Lanzarote has a year-round warm climate and a wonderful selection of extraordinary private holiday villas. Less than four hours flying time from most European cities, Lanzarote offers superb beaches, facilities and lots of activities for the entire family. Lanzarote has been designated a World Biosphere Reserve for its miles of glorious beaches and its dramatic, fascinating scenery created by its volcanic past.

Throughout the island, overlooking beaches, in villages and resorts there is an excellent variety of local and international cuisine, much specialising in its wealth of local fish. The island’s small size and reasonable roads, coupled with inexpensive car hire, makes self-drive an attractive option giving visitors complete freedom to tour the island at their leisure. Two sophisticated world class marinas attract the international yachting fraternity and offer superb sea excursions, game fishing and boat charters. Geographically part of North Africa, but benefiting from the cooling effect of the surrounding Atlantic and culturally as well as politically part of Spain, Lanzarote is an established, favorite, year round villa holiday destination, with many families returning year after year and through the generations.

A few minutes walk takes you into the centre of Teguise, a very quiet and serene small town. It was the capital of the island until 1852 but now is a residential haven for locals wishing to be removed from the bustle of tourism. It does come to life in a big way once a week for the islands Sunday market when it attracts people from far and wide for a few hours. Otherwise it is a delightful, quiet place with a village feel, some interesting sights, a few good quality shops and some very good restaurants and bars.

Teguise is known as a living museum and there are a host of beautiful historic buildings to visit, Spinola Palace, Marques Palace and the Santa Barbara castle to name a few. The village is centred round the main square with the church of Our Lady of Guadalupe as its landmark. It is only a ten minute drive from Teguise to the un-spoilt village of Famara on the north west coast of the island.

The large sweeping beach of Famara nestles under the cliffs of Los Riscos and is famous for surfing, boogie boarding and kite-surfing. It is also known as a naturist beach. The village itself is very small with a handful of local bars and simple fish restaurants. The holiday resort of Costa Teguise is a fifteen minute drive on the east coast and offers a larger selection of restaurants and bars along with five small beaches.

"this villa reeks of creosote -its a serious health hazard"

This is a lovely villa but has a terrible problem. The beams which are in most rooms have clearly been treated with creosote. There is an overwhleming stench of it. Moreover there is no ventilation in… More
