The West Country / Devon region
Whilst the Property is centrally situated on the Beautiful Dartmoor National Park it is only a 15 minute drive to the A38 Devon Expressway where you can explore South Devon or again 15 minutes West and join the A30 expressway which runs through the heart of Cornwall. Perfectly positioned and just set back from the Borders of Devon and Cornwall the many attractions of this region are in the main less than an hour away. Paignton, Torquay, Exeter generally a 45 minute drive, the lovely fishing port of Looe harbour and the stunning beaches of whitsand bay again 40 minutes, Newquay, Truro, and the Eden project can generally be reached in just over an hour as can the North Devon attractions.
Tavistock / Yelverton area
YELVERTON: Locally there are a number of Horse livery's, a Children's park, local pubs and restaurants, supermarkets and for the Golfers,Yelverton Golf Course and driving range are less than 1 mile away and welcome visitors.
A 15 minute drive will take you in to Plymouth sound and sea front where a visit to the historic Barbican marina and its many fine restaurants is a must, the Marine aquarium, the new Drake Shopping centre and of course Plymouth Hoe are all easily accessible.
There are a host of beaches all within a 30 minute drive from the property, or explore Cornwall, the Tamar Bridge link to this County is reached within a 15 minute drive, offering attractions like the Eden project, Flambards, some of the finest surfing at fistral beach and a whole collection of fishing harbours along each coast. Further details indoors: The Property hosts 4 double and 3 single bedrooms, sleeps 12 people Plus and is complete with a south facing heated swimming pool, full size snooker room, parking for six plus vehicles and situated in a completely secluded plot behind electronic gates. It really does offer a wonderful base for exploring this region.
The whole property has recently been completely refurbished at a cost of over £250,000 and is immaculate, decorated in Laura Ashley papers with beautiful heritage bathroom suites, including a large double Jacuzzi en suite. Built in 1895 it is full of Victorian character with original fireplaces all with living flame gas fires, character ornate mouldings and original stripped pine doors.
The large Kitchen conservatory area is fully fitted including a refurbished 1950s Gas fired Aga, a walk in pantry, a huge double fronted Log burner and a cream leather corner suite. The two adjacent open plan dining areas comfortably seat 12 people. The louge has a full cinema surround system, a new 42" LCD TV, Sky Plus with full world package, and DVD player. The property also has Wireless Broadband internet connections.
The Heated Swimming Pool patio area has a pool bar adjacent, complete with sound system, fridges,and double BBQ. There is also a range of Quality outdoor furniture and a sheltered dining table under the pergola, or for those that want to be away from their splashing children the property has an elevated ornate glass veranda overlooking the pool that spans the whole width of the house adorned with climbing honeysuckle.
The Property is very versatile and offers bedrooms on both the ground and first floor, the ground floor bedrooms that are south facing have doors that also open on to the veranda overlooking the Pool There is substantial night-time lighting system consisting of 9 double lampposts situated around the property 8 coachlamps, swimming pool light, pool deck lights and veranda downlights.
Further details outdoors: The Swimming Pool has just been completely renovated and retiled and heated to 29 degrees, the house is serviced by a Gardner and pool cleaner three times a week included in the rental, as well as linen change and fresh towels weekly. Having stayed in some fairly average Holiday cottages over the last 10 years this property blows you away,more like a 5 star hotel than a holiday let. The owners keep it pristine, the pool was cleaned every other day and anything we needed was immediately attended to.
