Holly Cottage is a well equipped comfortable, cosy grade 2 listed cottage on the edge of the wonderful town of Tavistock. It is only a 2 minute level walk into this well loved town with it's historic buildings and range of varied and interesting shops. Holly Cottage has all you could wish for for your well earned break, comfortable good quality furniture, well equipped kitchen (you don't have to buy any extras here) 2 bedrooms, providing a great place for you and your family to stay.
The lounge is spacious, with a dining area at one end seating 4. There is a lovely old feature fireplace with woodburner. A 3 seater settee with 2 recliners and a separate reclining chair to ensure all can sit and enjoy the selection of DVDs provided for all age groups. Enjoy walking into town for a nice meal, leaving your car in it's off road parking space. Plenty of good take aways if you want to eat in with the children. Fresh flowers, a bottle of wine and a Devon Cream tea await you on arrival.

The West Country / Devon region
There are numerous golf courses nearby, including the very well known St Mellion, only about 15 minutes away by car. Many others within shorter distances. Hawking can be arranged, as can guided walks on Dartmoor. There are a good selection of National Trust properties within easy travelling. The Eden Project is about an hours drive. The historic port of Plymouth is only 15 miles away.Great beaches approx 40 minutes drive.

Holly Cottage is situated on the edge of the delightful historic market town of Tavistock. Voted the best market town in England, Tavistock offers and interesting range of individual shops, and of course, the famous pannier market, with it's variety of stalls offering delicious food, crafts and produce. On the edge of the Dartmoor National Park with it's vast beauty, hills, streams and rivers to explore and wonder at. Many activities nearby include horse riding, fishing, inc. coarse, river and fly, walking, cycling - near to many National Cycle Paths and hiking.

How to get there
Approx 45 miles from the M5 at Exeter - access is easy via the A30 and the A386 to Tavistock. The main airport at Exeter is well served by the budget airline Flybe. Flights are regular to a large variety of places, both in the UK and Europe. Travel to Exeter Airport is approx 1 hour or less. Plymouth has a mainline railway station, with regular service to London and many other parts of the UK. Plymouth also has a ferry port with links to France and Spain via Brittany ferries. It has a small airport with regular local services operated by Air South West

Further details indoors: Holly Cottage has 2 bedrooms, both tastefully furnished with traditional pine furniture and have plenty of storage space in the wardrobes and drawers provided. Bedroom one has a double bed and bedroom 2 has bunk beds. Whilst these are very sturdy we do not permit adults to sleep on the top bunk, unless they are small, lightweight adults. This includes well grown children. The cottage therefore sleeps 2 adults and 2 children or 3 adults. We do not provide for small babies but are happy for you to bring your own travel cot etc. Bed linen and duvets are provided free of charge and are changed once during a 2 weeks stay. Towels are also provided but if you are going to visit the beaches please bring your own towels to take with you.
Further details outdoors: Holly Cottage is very old and has quite steep stairs. It is, therefore, sadly not suitable for the less able who could not manage this type of challenge. Parents of young children should also be aware of this as small, unstable children may also find the stairs difficult. Parents bringing young children do so entirely at their own risk and must be wholly responsible for their safety during their stay. There is a courtyard area to the rear of the cottage with a table and chairs. There is a stone shed housing a washing machine for guest use and this can also be used for the storage of pedal cycles at your own risk. There is an off road parking space, particularly useful in Tavistock, as parking can often be difficult.
Further details
There is a security deposit of £75 payable by separate cheque. This is not paid in and is destroyed after you vacate subject to there being no damaged or missing items and that the cottage is left in a clean and tidy condition. Unlike many holiday cottages we do not charge extra for cleaning and ask that the accommodation is left 'as found'.

Special occasion?: We can arrange special breaks for your celebration - ie - anniversary, birthday, or just a special treat. These can include champagne, hand made chocolates, a wonderful welcome basket of goodies, an adventure of some sort arranged for you prior to your arrival, a murder mystery evening at a nearby venue, complementary therapies, golf, fishing, riding lessons - or anything else if we can arrange it for you - please ask and we will try to make your break extra special.
Your host is fully qualified complimentary therapist and can offer Reflexology, Holistic Massage, Reiki, Healing and Bowen so why not treat yourself to a relaxing rejuvenating therapy during your holiday.

Our first holiday since having baby Holly (7 months) and what a good one. Right from the start from a nice and pleasant greeting from Caroline and Nick to welcome us to Holly cottage.
