The West Country / Devon region
Dartmoor National Park is an area of beautiful moorland wilderness covering 365 square miles. Imposing granite tors, delightful rivers and streams, vast scenic views, awe inspiring countryside to mention a few descriptions of this wonderful part of Devon. Many picture postcard villages scattered throughout the area. A great place to explore and enjoy the activities and views on offer throughout the region.
Tavistock / Dartmoor area
Owls Roost is only 2 miles from the delightful historic market town of Tavistock. Voted the best market town in England, Tavistock offers an interesting range of individual shops, and of course, the famous pannier market, with it's range of stalls offering delicious food, crafts and produce.We are within the Dartmoor National Park with it's vast beauty, hills, streams and rivers to explore and wonder at. Many activities nearby include horse riding, fishing, inc. coarse, river and fly, walking, cycling (we are adjacent to National Cycle Path 27) and hiking. There are numerous golf courses nearby, including the very well known St Mellion, only about 15 minutes away by car. Many others within shorter distances. Hawking can be arranged, as can guided walks on Dartmoor. The famous Tavistock Goose Fair is held on the second Wednesday in October each year. There are a good selection of National Trust properties within easy travelling. The Eden Project is about an hours drive. The historic port of Plymouth is only 15 miles away. Beaches approx 40 minutes drive.
How to get there
Approx 45 miles from the M5 at Exeter - access is easy via the A30 and the A386 to Tavistock. The main airport at Exeter is well served by the budget airline Flybe. Flights are regular to a large variety of places, both in the UK and Europe. Travel to Exeter Airport is approx 1 hour or less. Plymouth has a mainline railway station, with regular service to London and many other parts of the UK. Plymouth also has a ferry port with links to France and Spain via Brittany ferries. It has a small airport with regular local services operated by Air South West

Further details indoors: Owls Roost is newly refurbished and has every modern convenience within a delightful character barn conversion. One spacious bedroom with king sized bed and plenty of storage. Lounge with vaulted ceiling, wood burning stove, reclining chair and reclining settee. Dining table and chairs. Fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, oven and hob and grill. Fully equipped to ensure you have everything you may need during your stay.
The large bathroom has a wonderful double bath, separate shower cubicle, toilet and washbasin, A great way to start your holiday or relax after a long walk on the moors - just relax in the bath together with a glass of your complimentary wine.
Further details outdoors: Owls Roost has it's own private garden with table and chairs. A barbecue is also available for eating 'al-fresco' on the warm balmy summer evenings. A lovely area, colourful and spacious. There is off road parking adjoining the garden, again for the private use of guests.

Conditions
Deposit of 30% payable on booking. Full amount required within 8 weeks of holiday commencing. There is a security deposit of £75 payable by separate cheque. This is not paid in and is destroyed after you vacate subject to there being no damaged or missing items and that the cottage is left in a clean and tidy condition. Unlike many holiday cottages we do not charge extra for cleaning and ask that the accommodation is left 'as found'.

The property's weekend rates apply to: Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights
NB: Prices may be subject to change at the advertiser's discretion.
Our changeover day is a Friday. You may, occasionally, be able to arrive on alternative days but this may incur an extra expense, dependant on season.
Short Breaks are Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights at the weekend or Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights midweek for the same price - so 3 nights at the weekend or 4 nights for the price of 3 midweek.
A deposit of £75 is payable. This is taken in a cheque which is only paid in in the event of any damaged or missing items or that the accommodation is not left in a clean and tidy condition.
Payment by cheque is preferred as we do incur charges to accept payment by cards. We are happy to take payment by card but this does incur a 5% charge which is added to the final amount owed.

We have been so pleased to find Owls Roost and have particularly enjoyed the superb quality of all the high standard furnishings, from the natural stone and wood features to the impressive 'wow factor' bathroom.
