Home description
Think 'Brief Encounters', 'Hound of the Baskervilles', 'Sherlock Holmes', 'Rosamund Pilcher'. The station sits overlooking Tavistock and Dartmoor with an air of mystery, but a very warm welcome awaits the station's guests in its very comfortable and well appointed accommodation with lots of 'extras'. You can just relax in the cottage with a good book or film, or explore Dartmoor and all that it has to offer.
As seen on Channel 4.

Guestbook for Porter's Office, Tavistock
We've had a wonderful few days and have loved staying in the Porter's Office. Well done to you both in making such a good job of the renovation which made our stay really comfortable. Pure luxury for the 'oldies'. Thank you. Liz and David, Toulouse - June 2009 We stayed in the Ticket Office for a week in sunny March and had an absolutely fantastic holiday. The accommodation is excellent - decorated to a high standard with beautiful original "ticket office" features making it a unique place to stay. The owners have worked hard to gain their five stars - and deserve them. The Old Railways Station is only a few minutes walk to the town centre, overlooks Dartmoor and south coastal towns are also easily accessible. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. Claire, Ian and Charlotte of London 23 March 2009
Had a great time, hope to see you again next Christmas. Bill and Bev from London. Porter's Office December 2008
"Wonderful location, fantastic stay, well done and best wishes" Mike and Julie, Manchester. Refreshment Hall August 2008
"We just loved the quirkiness of the Ticketing Hall, the original panelling and ticket booths were delightful. The Station is such a unique place just full of character." Louisa & Rob, Guildford.
"The Station is fantastic - the best place to stay in Tavistock." Margaret, Bovey Tracey
"It was so great to be so close to the town, but access the cycle path right outside the Station. A cycle to Lydford Gorge is a must. We'll be back, but for longer next time, a few days just isn't enough time. Staniford family, Maidstone.
"Fantastic renovation - absolute luxury. Colin and Jenny are great hosts". Ed and Jo of Lancashire. Ticketing Hall August 2008
