Home description
This beautiful well equipped apartment with pool is located in the heart of the tranquil,scenic fishing village of Santa Luzia,famous for it's Octopus and beautiful sunsets and views.A secure entrance takes you through an open stairwell and up to the top floor. A few minutes stroll takes you to the waterfront where you can access the beaches by water taxi or ferry.
Relax in the cafes or explore the many picturesque cobbled streets. There are many fantastic restaurants to choose from to suit all tastes and pockets. In the village there are several mini markets,butcher,bakery and pharmacy.
You are on the out skirts of Tavira,known as the prettiest town in Portugal and so much to see and do and only 2kms away. There are frequent buses or taxis and very reasonable fares. If you are looking for a romantic holiday that is quiet and peaceful or the hustle and bustle of the town and it's night life then we have it all here.

The Algarve / East Algarve region
The Algarve is situated along the Atlantic Ocean and has a temperate climate with Mediterranean characteristics. We have more than 3,000 hours of sunlight and average temperatures ranging from15c in January to 29c in August. Even in winter there is an average of 6 hours of sunshine a day!
Santa Luzia is a traditional Portuguese village with a main street on the Ria Formosa, which is an ever-changing panorama of tides and boats.Behind the water front ,the old town of square houses sits squashed together in it's narrow streets. Santa Luzia is home to many good restaurants,most specialising in seafood and are of a very good standard. one I would highly recommend is 'Canto Azul' a Dutch couple, Leonie and Ghert (the chef) with perfect English and a great view from the terrace over the lagoon. The clean white sandy beaches are safe, gently sloping and can be reached in minutes by ferry boat or water taxi. A short 10-15 minute walk to catch the miniature train to Barril beach near the Pedras del Rei complex is a great adventure for the children.
Tavira / Santa Luzia, Tavira area
Tavira is 3 km away so you can easily walk,catch a bus or get a taxi for approx 5 euros.It is an ancient town with a Phoenician,Roman and Moorish part and has a castle,over 35 churches and a superb arch Roman bridge.On both sides of the river 'Gilao' you can find good shopping for fresh produce,pottery,basket ware and handicrafts. The locals are very friendly and always welcome the tourists. There are lots of organised tours including a trip around Tavira on the tourist train or horse and carraige and also historical tours.Walking,hiking and cycling are very popular as well as bird watching in the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve.A boat trip up the Guadiana River which forms the border with Spain and on to Alcotim for lunch is a sight to see.
For the energetic,a variety of watersports too. Tavira also has a science museum for all ages,cinema,theatre and auditorium for live shows and films.At night Tavira comes alive with music,colour and fantastic atmosphere.
How to get there
Many airlines including Easy jet,Monarch,Ryan air,BA and Thomson fly direct to Faro from the UK and the journey time approx 2hours 20 minutes. A car is not necessary therefore I can organise a friendly taxi (Francisco) who speaks very good English and can meet you in the airport and bring you to the apartment. The approx cost per car each way is €45 and the journey time 35 minutes. if you would like me to quote you a price for a car for your stay then please ask.

Further details indoors: The kitchen and lounge have patio doors to the terrace with views across the roof tops and towards the hills. The bedroom is equipped with a 4 full length mirrored compartment wardrobe. The bedroom also has distant views of the sea and nearby orange groves and patio doors to the front balcony. The bathroom has a full length bath with shower. There is an intercom system and view hole. In the lounge there is a comfortable double sofa bed, flat screen TV,DVD and Hi FI. The Sky TV provides the free channels. Please feel free to bring your own sky card if you require a wider viewing. Both patio doors have blinds. For the winter months the apartment is comfortably heated using freestanding radiators.
Further details outdoors: There is a 10 x 4 meter pool specifically for the guests of the 16 apartments. Not all the owners occupy the apartments so the pool is never crowded. This can be accessed by going down stairs and through the underground secure parking and out to the walled area to the pool. There are sun loungers for your use and an outside shower. The underground parking electric door can be accessed via the street using a remote control and there is an allocated space for your car. The balcony out from the lounge in the summer has part shade in the morning and full sun in the afternoon/evening. It is ideal for al fresco dining. It is spacious, private and accommodates up to 4 people relaxing on the sun chairs and loungers. Bikes for hire can be arranged - please ask

Conditions
Smoking is permitted but only on the terrace/balcony - thank you. A non refundable 25% deposit is due to secure the booking. The balance/breakage fee is due one month prior to your arrival. A refundable breakage deposit of £50.00 required with the balance,to be refunded within 10 days of your departure(subject to satisfactory property inspection).
