About the home

This apartment is located on the outskirts of Tavira. It is fully equipped to a high standard for a 'home from home' holiday, suitable for families and golfers alike. It has a pool with jacuzzi, two bar b q areas and superb views of the sea and surrounding countryside.

It is fully air conditioned and has sky TV. Two twin bedrooms complete with linen and towels. Just 5 minutes from town centre and beautiful beaches, 30 minutes from the Spanish border, and 30 minutes from Faro airport. Local bus service from Mato Santo Espirito to Tavira centre - cost 1 euro for all day use. (As at summer 2011)

It has easy access to local amenities i.e. 2 restaurants, 2 cafes, and bakery within walking distance.

The Algarve / East Algarve region

Tavira is often known as the prettiest town of the Algarve. The lovely Ria Formosa nature reserve is within only 8 kilometres. The beautiful island beach is a short boat ride away, with plenty of beach cafes and sunshades. Water sports available in the summer.

There are many places to visit in the surrounding area such as historic Castro Marim, charming fishing villages such as Fuzeta and Olhao. Loule market is always a favourite where you can hunt for that bargain. Family fun can be found at the Aqua Show water park near Quarteira or you can swim with the dolphins at Zoo Marine near Albufeira.

The Tavira / Mato Santo Espirito area

Algarvean and Roman history, architecture and culture are in Tavira in abundance. Visit the many churches and castle. Take a walk around the cobbled streets or along the river bank. Enjoy a meal or snack in one of the many riverside cafes and restaurants. Hop on a five minute boat ride to the beautiful beaches on the Isle of Tavira. It seems time has stood still in this charming old town with a long history.

Visit other local places such as Castro Marim, Cabanas and Santa Luzia. Santa Luzia has a summer festival with live music and street entertainment during August. Take in the evening outdoor (free) shows in the centre of Tavira during the summer months.

Enjoy a drink in the 'square' at Villa Real, surrounded by orange blossom. Wander round the many shops or stroll along the marina. This is the last town in Portugal before Spain. Visit the beautiful city of Seville in Spain (2 hours) or the nearest town in Spain just over the border, Ayamonte.

“Lovely apartment, great area!” We spent a lovely 2 weeks in this apartment.It is in a very well maintained apartment complex. It Is spotlessly clean and was very well equipped with all we needed. The apartment is a great base for a family holiday, there are lots of fabulous beaches in the area and the town of Tavira is full of character with lots of good restaurants close by.
