This 2 bedroomed apartment is situated in the peaceful residential and holiday home area of Monte Verde in Conceicao de Tavira - which for discerning golfers is a only several minutes walk from Benamor Golf Course! The village offers a good range of amenities (2minutes walk) , and a little further on foot you will reach the fishing village of Cabanas with a wider choice of shops, bars and restaurants - and of course the beach island.

This apartment has been recently rennovated and beautifully furnished offering an excellent standard of self catering accommodation. With its large residents pool area, its guests are offered a very rewarding stay. The apartment is essentially 2 bedroomed with 4 beds, but a further 4 people can be accommodated on the double sofa bed and the 2 fold away beds.

Perfect for couples or a large family seeking a peaceful holiday with amenities close by. Also ideal for golfers wishing to sample the golf in the Eastern Algarve with a good selection of courses all within a 30 minute drive.

The Algarve / East Algarve region

With its stunning coastline, excellent golf courses and pleasant year round climate,the Algarve's 200 kilometre stretch of southern shoreline has become one of Europe's most popular holiday destinations. Bordered on two sides by the Atlantic Ocean, the Algarve is divided from the rest of Portugal by a series of low lying mountains. In the east, the Guardiana River forms a scenic border with neighbouring Spain.

There is a clear definition between the Western Algarve and the East. Whilst the West shows more development towards tourism, the Eastern Algarve and it’s tidal marshlands still have a tranquil beauty, and the small resorts along the coast have retained much of their character, looking today as they must have looked long ago. Here, tourism blends in perfectly with local activities creating a relaxed way of life. There is a tinge of excitement and even romance about the ferry boat trips to the beach islands, where visitors are rewarded with superb, less crowded bathing beaches and warm waters.

The sea water temperature is around 14c in January and reaches a high 22c in August. A pleasant sea breeze refreshes the temperatures of the region, which are around 15c in January and up to 28c or more in July and August. The Algarve can also count on around 3.000 hours of Sun during the year which makes it a favourite destination for those who fancy such a sunny climate. The autumn and winter months are mild, but you will need a jacket in the evening and some kind of heating in your apartment or hotel room. January is the coolest month of the year.

Tavira / Conceicao area

This apartment offers an excellent standard of self catering accommodation and is situated close to road, train and bus routes. Everything you could wish for is in close proximity. The small and quaint village of Conceicao has a mini-market, butchers, several coffee bars and restaurants – only 2 minutes walk away! For a little more enjoyment, the seaside resort of Cabanas is around 1km away and whilst filled with shops bars and restaurants offers a local fishing village charm. There are many different places to eat including Portuguese, Italian and English cuisines, a range of friendly local Tascas and several late night bars, although the night-life is generally relaxed and ‘low-key‘.

BEACHES
The Algarve is famous for its wonderful sandy shores and there are an abundance of excellent clean beaches within a few minutes drive. By foot, the closest to the apartment is the Cabanas Beach Island which is reached by small boat from the fishing village of Cabanas around 1km away.

THE BEAUTIFUL TOWN OF TAVIRA - 5 kms

When staying in Conceicao a visit to the beautiful town of Tavira is essential! You will not fail to be enthralled by its unspoilt charm, character and tranquility. As you wander along the cobbled streets, you'll see an abundance of history dating as far back as 2000BC. A Roman bridge links the 2 parts of the town across the River Gilao, its sides decorated with traditional old bars and restaurants where you can relax and enjoy a peaceful drink or meal. Horse drawn carriages and a small train operate around the town and are perfect for sightseeing and enjoying the peaceful ambience. The many churches (37 in total!), the town castle and the typical fisherman's harbour leading to the Ria Formosa Natural Park are all places to visit, along with the wonderful daily market selling fresh home grown produce. Tavira Island and its wonderful beach is accessible by ferry boat from the town and offers excellent facilities with a wonderful holiday atmosphere.

THINGS TO SEE AND DO

…….by travelling a little further afield there are a good range of things to do to suit all tastes. For nature lovers there are forest walks, cruises along the River Guadiana or natures trails along the Ria Formosa Reserve where bird watching is in abundance! By travelling towards the West there are some excellent shopping centres in Faro and Ghia as well as the famous Water Parks and Zoo Marine (wonderful for children), all easily reached by car (around 45 minutes) or by day trip coach. The Spanish border town of Ayamonte is a mere 10kms away where the delights of another country can be sampled along with wine, Tapas and shopping and can be reached by bus, train, ferry or car. Seville is around 150km. For budding historians, as well as Tavira, Castro Marim Castle is a must.

GOLF

This is perfect accommodation for golfers wishing to sample the excellent courses situated in the Eastern Algarve. Within a 20km radius there are 7 courses to choose from. Benamor and the 2 Quintas (Ria and Cima) are the most popular and can be reached within several minutes. The prestigious new course of Monte Rei designed by Jack Nicklaus now has its first 18 holes open and is continuing in its development to the second phase offering the height of golfing luxury - although a costly experience, this is a real treat for golfing fanatics wishing to experience a little high life! Travelling only 10kms further on towards Spain, the challenging course of Castro Marim, along with its famous country club comes highly recommended and just across the border are the Costa Esuri and Quinta do Vale courses now growing in popularity. We can organise a full golfing package with 1 price per head with play at a selection of these courses, car hire and rental of this apartment. (Flights not included)

It is becoming increasingly easy to travel to the Algarve where the main airport is Faro. The most favoured budget airlines are Easyjet, Thomsonfly, Jet2.com, Bmi Baby and Monarch. The best website that we can recommend is www.skyscanner.net where you can select your chosen dates and preferred departure airport and you are presented with a 1 simple list of all available flights, the operator names and the prices! This saves trawling through mountains of different websites.

This apartment is all on one floor and is spacious and modern in design. On entering the apartment, the main lounge area is comfortably furnished with sofas and large dining table for up to 6 people. The adjoining kitchen is bright and airy and fully equipped with appliances.

There are 2 bedrooms, 1 with double bed and 1 with 2 single beds. A cot can be supplied if required. Both have fitted wardrobes. There is 1 house bathroom with bath and overhead shower. A futher 4 people can be accommodated on the double sofa bed and 2 fold away beds.

A small balcony leads from the rear of the apartment.

Parking spaces are available to residents, but are not specifically allocated. The residents pool area is less than 1 minutes walk away and has a large swimming pool and paddling pool for small children.
