Welcome to our home in Santa Luzia! We love it – and we hope you enjoy your stay here as much as we do.
Our luxurious new self-catering apartment is situated on the edge of the charming, unspoilt fishing village of Santa Luzia with its spectacular sandy beaches and superb seafood restaurants. Decorated in a contemporary style, it offers high quality accommodation that combines stylish design with comfort and relaxation.

The Algarve region
The Algarve is a charming region with a warm climate from the hills in the north to the coastline of long sandy beaches and rugged cliffs. The area around Santa Luzia and Tavira is quiet and unspoilt, yet offers a variety of attractions including excellent golf courses within easy reach, historic towns and villages, a wide range of outdoor activities, and easy access to the great Spanish cities of Seville, Cadiz and Jerez.

Santa Luzia
Santa Luzia is located some 35 kilometres from Faro airport and only 8km from Junction 16 of the A22 motorway. Part of the Ria Formosa Natural Reserve Park, it remains peaceful and unspoilt – a haven of tranquillity for the many varieties of birds that visit its beautiful flora and fauna. Along its picturesque water front, lined with palm trees, Santa Luzia offers a range of amenities including a variety of well-priced restaurants and cafes, grocery stores, pharmacy, bank and small shops – all within easy walking distance of the apartment. Locally caught fish are a particular speciality with swordfish, tuna, sea bass and sea bream, as well as clams, prawns and lobster on offer.
Its white, sandy beaches shelve gently into the sea and are conveniently located within a few minutes walk and a 5 minute ferry ride. Nearby, the spectacular Praia Barril offers 12km of unspoilt sandy beach and a selection of small beachside cafes, all accessed via a quaint miniature railway that runs every few minutes throughout the day. Santa Luzia’s beaches are protected by the Department of the Environment and regularly win awards as being amongst the cleanest in Europe.
Tavira
Just 3km away is the lovely historic town of Tavira with its Roman bridge and Moorish old town. Along its cobbled streets and narrow alleyways, it offers a range of restaurants, cafes, bars and shops. Take the hourly road train around the town and visit the beautiful cathedral and castle gardens, the ancient Roman bridge across the Gilao river where 400 year old houses flank the river bank, and the picturesque central plaza where you can relax at one of the pavement cafes with a carafe of fine Portuguese wine. Or take the train to Quatro Aguas and the ferry to Tavira island, with its wide choice of restaurants and expanse of unspoilt sandy beach. On summer evenings, public entertainment can be found in the park by the river.
Other attractions
For the keen golfer, the apartment provides easy access to a selection of superb golf courses. Within 30 minutes drive to the west lie Quinta do Lago and Vale do Lobo, with Vilamoura a further 15 minutes on. Benamor, Quinta da Cima and Quinta de Ria are 10 minutes away, while Castro Marim is 25 minutes away.
Children will love the new watershoot park at Loule (35 minutes away) - or for the ultimate treat, why not swim with the dolphins at Zoomarine (40 minutes away)! Local activities include diving, surfing, swimming, tennis, walking, cycling, fishing, horse riding, golf, wind-surfing and water skiing.
For committed shoppers, Faro offers an excellent range of shops within its historic centre – or visit the Forum Algarve retail centre which offers a wide range of stores on the outskirts of Faro.
Alternatively the historic town of Seville is only 1.5 hours drive away. Visit the spectacular Giralda and Alcazar, explore the narrow cobbled streets of the old Moorish town, take a horse drawn carriage, experience authentic tapas in the many bars around the city – and don’t forget to visit the city’s fantastic range of shoe shops! The perfect treat for a budding Imelda Marcos!

Further details indoors: Situated on the ground floor, the apartment has convenient access from the marble entrance hall. The spacious lounge/diner incorporates two comfortable leather sofas (one is a double sofa bed), a 32” TV with DVD, stereo system plus i-pod player with integrated speaker system. Its double patio doors open onto a beautifully presented, south facing paved patio and shrubbery with built-in BBQ and outdoor dining furniture.
The beautifully appointed kitchen has granite work surfaces, a built-in breakfast bar with 4 bar stools plus a range of fully fitted appliances including fridge/freezer, microwave, oven, ceramic hob and washer/dryer. A full range of crockery, cutlery, pans and cooking utensils is provided to cater for up to 8 people.
The master bedroom offers a king size bed, built-in double wardrobes (with security safe), 2 bedside cabinets and a chest of drawers. The second bedroom includes twin beds and also has access to spacious wardrobes and storage space. Both bedrooms have patio doors that lead directly to the patio and garden area.
The fully tiled bathroom includes vanity wash hand basin unit, bath, shower, toilet and bidet.

25% deposit at time of booking with balance to be paid at least 8 weeks before arrival. If the booking is made within 8 weeks of the arrival date, the full amount is due at the time of booking.
£200 damage and breakables deposit payable with balance. This will be returned by post after departure.
Linen and towels provided. Please do not use the towels on the beach.
