The Algarve region

Tavira along with Lagos is one of the most architecturally attractive towns in the Algarve and its origin dates back to around 2.000 BC. During the occupation of the Algarve by the Moors this town was considered of great importance due to its fishing industry.
Tavira area
Tavira is a charming town built on the River Gilão. It has maintained its historic flavour with many points of interest and boasts many excellent bars and restaurants. A Roman bridge links the two parts of the town. Between the town and the sea is the spectacular Rio Formosa nature reserve.
Tavira also boasts a number of challenging golf courses in the near vicinity.

Steps lead down to the salted-water swimming pool area with its lovely flowerbeds and fruit trees. Alternatively, there are also two more terraces upstairs. Casa Luzia is within minutes of idyllic beaches and stunning golf courses and a short drive to water parks and other attractions.
Further details outdoors: As well as the indoor dining room, there is a furnished covered terrace suitable for al fresco dining or relaxing with a drink with far reaching views out onto the Rio Formesa.
