The Algarve region
Based just 5 Km from the historic old town of Tavira with it's wonderful moorish architecture. Tavira is known as "The Jewel in the Crown" of the Algarve and remains relatively unspoilt by tourism. Just a short drive from the villa are some of the best beaches on the Algarve which are rarely crowded even in the height of summer.
If you prefer your entertainment a little more high octane then there are several great water parks within easy driving distance. If on the other hand you are a keen Birder then this area really is a "Birders Haven" and also offers outstanding flora that can be seen in the spring. The Rio Formosa National Park is but a short car ride and offers some of the best Birding in Portugal. Please visit our website where you can find out a lot more about the area.
If Golf is your passion then you will be spoilt for choice as there are three coarses between Tavira and the Spanish border which is only a 30 mins drive.
There is a large fresh fish, meat, fruit and veg market in Tavira every day except Sunday where you can get fresh produce that tastes like it should rather than the tasteless excuses that are sold in the UK.
Tavira / Santa Margarida area
If you like walking then turn right out of the Villa and in a few steps you will be in the hills and after a while you will come to the Pego de Inferno which translates to Pool of Hell actually it is a waterfall and pool where the locals go to swim. If you turn left out of the villa and walk down the lane for about a mile you will come to the village of Santa Margarida where you will find a local bar and just across the road there is a small restarant which is highly recommended.
If you like parades and festivals there is always something going on down in Tavira but be prepared for a late night as they tend to start these late in the evening, just take a coffee or beer at one of the many cafes and watch them go by!

Further details indoors: The Villa was designed and commissioned by ourselves. It is situated just 5 Km from Tavira on the Sao Bras road near a small village called Santa Margarida. The area is rich with orange and lemon groves as well as numerous vineyards.
The Casa (which is Portuguese for house) is reached from the main road up a recent new tarmac road and on your way you will only pass one other small villa and several Portuguese family smallholdings. Just across the road from the villa lives an English couple who have lived there for over 15 years. The Casa stands on an elevated position and commands excellent views of the surrounding countryside and the sea. The villa is designed to suit several families or large group who wish to holiday to-gether but still want some privacy.
