About the home

Beautifully furnished, 2 bedroomed apartment, ideally situated close to town, beaches and golf courses, makes an ideal base for this area. Guest feedback confirms that it has everything you could need for a relaxing holiday. ( References can be provided ).

The lounge is furnished to a very high standard of comfort, and all rooms have air conditioning and heating units. Marble floors throughout add a feeling of luxury to this family home.

Large double bedroom has balcony overlooking the pool, which has a jacuzzi. The balcony provides views of the sea and Portuguese countryside up to the hills. This balcony has the sun in the morning and lovely sunrises.

The second bedroom has twin beds, and built in wardrobes ( as has the main bedroom). window has bars at the base so it is particularly child friendly.

The large lounge has 2 sofas, one converts into a comfortable sofa bed, TV & DVD, and dining table with seating for 6. Double doors lead to a large balcony with comfortable seating. this balcony has sun all afternoon and evening with an awning fitted, if you prefer a little more shade on the hottest days.

The large balcony is ideal for dining as there is another door leading to the kitchen, and a real sun trap for relaxing.

Kitchen is fully furnished to provide home from home, with everything from juicer for fresh orange juice in the mornings to washer drier and dishwasher.

The apartment benefits from secure underground parking, as well as parking spaces directly outside. Being slightly out of town means you don't have traffic noise or any trouble parking.

There is lift access to the apartment. Pool furniture and chairs & sun shades are provided to take down to the beach /pool as well as cooler bag and all you could need for spending the day at the beach.

the pool area is for a limited number of apartments, and has a lovely garden area. it gets the sun in the morning through to the afternoon.

A good travel cot, convertible high chair and buggy are all in the apartment, so it is ideal for the whole family. the bedrooms also have blackout blinds, which helps when putting young children to bed on long sunny days.

The apartment has been prepared in every way to give you a relaxing holiday. Bed linen and towels are provided, and cleaning is included.

The kitchen features every mod con including washer/drier & dishwasher & has a second door leading out on to the balcony.

The underground car parking is accessed by remote control and the lift is taken from the garage area. There is video entrance to the apartment, so it feels very secure.

The pool area is surrounded by a maintained garden and patio area, and has male and female changing rooms, featuring showers and toilets adjacent to the pool. The area is overlooked by the back balcony, making it easy to watch over children.

Ideally situated for relaxing family holiday, close to many long, beautiful sandy beaches. Chairs, sun shades & picnic basket are provided to take to the beach.

A large travel cot, convertible high chair and buggy are all available for guests with young children.

Further details outdoors:
Apartment is just outside of Tavira town centre. A car is recommended if first time visiting, though the apartment is close to a major bus route connecting the towns and beaches along the Eastern Algarve from Faro to the Spanish border.

the apartment is situated just outside Tavira at Mato Santo Esprito.There are restaurants and cafes nearby, and Gran Plaza is a few minutes away, which has added modern shops, bars and restaurants popular with all the family.

There is lots to do in the area, with 6 golf courses to be found within 25 kilometres, including Monte Rei and Quinta de Ria, & horse riding centre within easy walking distance.

The apartment is in heart of the Rio Formosa nature reserves, as well as close to the Tavira forrest and Castro Marim reserve. The area is well known for stunning long sandy beaches, beautiful countryside and lots of amazing wildlife such as flamingoes.

Tavira is a beautiful town centre for a holiday, set around a river with cafes and restaurants along the river front. Apartment is c5 mins from town centre, & a taxi back at night costs c7 euros if you want to leave the car at home.

There are 3 good restaurants in easy walking distance, 1 having a great take away service available all day. In addition, there is a cafe about 100 yards away, and next door to that is the deli with fresh bread daily. A well stocked supermarket is c 1/2 mile away and open til 9pm.

Further details

Rental deposit of 300 euros is paid on arrival, and returned on date the apartment is vacated. Arrival after 2pm and departure to be before 10am. Please advise at time of booking if this presents a difficulty, as it may be possible to accommodate your needs depending on other guests requirements, and cleaning needs.

The Algarve / East Algarve region

The Algarve is the southernmost region of Portugal and it's one of Europe's favourite holiday destinations well known for glorious year round sunshine and excellent sandy beaches.

Located on the tip of Europe with the vast ocean of the Atlantic as its southern and western border, this enviable position gives this region possibly the most unpolluted climate in the European continent.

The Eastern Algarve is felt to be more typically Portuguese, with unspoilt fishing villages, orange groves and a relaxed atmosphere.

There are long sandy beaches each with a different atmosphere and lots to do for all the family.

The Tavira / Mato Santo Espirito area

One of the oldest and considered the most picturesque town in the Algarve, Tavira has a quiet, friendly ambience and makes a pleasant place to stay. The town centre is set along a river, with many cafes and restaurants, and a little tourist train that runs round the town.

Tavira has many beautiful buildings and is overlooked by a castle, giving views of the town, the coast, the salt pans and some local stork inhabitants nesting on the chimney tops.

The town feature traditional tiled houses and typical Portuguese architecture. There are many lovely squares to find and streets to explore, each featuring a cafe to make the most of the views and sunshine.

Along the coast are a range of unspoilt fishing and seaside towns, including Cacela Velha, Fuseta and Santa Luzia with a fine tradition of octopus fishing.

Tavira has lots happening throughout the year including; dancing &events in the town centre in the summer & music in the churches during the winter months with many excellent musicians; antique fairs and book fairs throughout the summer; and a gastranomy fair with stalls to sample local food, Tavira has some of the most beautiful & historical churches in the Algarve.

25 minutes from Faro airport, with regular flights in through most budget airlines.

Most of the car hire companies are based at Faro Airport, or a range of transfer companies.

if you are enjoying Portugal at a slower pace, and travelling independently or on a budget, the apartment is on a bus route. it is necessary to change buses once in Faro town, but the stops are right beside each other and a frequent route throughout the day. not difficult even with luggage, and the bus drivers will provide change if you only have a note.
