About the home

This is a new apartment that has been built and furnished to a high standard with air conditioning and heater for the cooler evenings.
There is a built in BBQ. Satellite TV is installed and also internet connection.
It is ideal for families, golfers or couples wanting a quiet setting but within walking distance to the bars,restaurants,and entertainment.
The Eastern Algarve is well known for it's blue flag beaches and there are golf courses within 5 to 15 mins drive away.

The apartment has two bathrooms one being en-suite with a Jacuzzi bath and the second being a power shower.
There are two balcony's one off the lounge and one off the master bedroom, there is a built in BBQ and patio furniture.
Sky TV is installed and there are CDs DVDs books and games for you to use. there is a TV with DVD in the twin bedroom.
Two male and one female sets of golf clubs are available to hire for a small fee.

The Algarve / East Algarve region

The Algarve has a mild climate and can be visited all year, the hottest months are July and August.
Being only 2hrs 45 mins flight from the UK it is also good for long week-end trips as well as full holiday's.
The Algarve is well known for it's superb beaches and different coast line from one end to the other.
It is a golfers paradise with many golf courses along the whole of the area.

The Tavira / Quinta de Pegada area

Tavira is a picturesque town with cobbled streets and tiled roof buildings, it also has an abundance of pavement cafe's and bars to sit and watch the world go by

The river Gilao meets the river Sequa and the Roman bridges that cross it are very attractive.

Take the little train or horse drawn carriage around Tavira to see the sights.
The beaches around the area are blue flag standard and those close by are part of the Ria Formosa National Park,

Visit Praia Barril beach which you can access by a little train or by foot, Iiha Tavira beach by boat from Tavira centre, Cabanas beach accessed by boat or if you prefer to drive up to the beach visit Praia Verde, Altura, Monte Gordo and many more.

In the summer there is a good program of evening entertainment much of it open air and free.

July and August are the months when the cine club film festival visit the town and well worth a look.
Other festivals are the medieval or the Easter parade in Tavira.

Visit the sea salt flats or the oyster and fish farms, go to the obsevatory tower in the north of the city or visit the castle.
Take a paddle steamer down the Guardian River to Alcotim or visit the Zoo Marine, the Aqualand pool or go karting, all a short drive away.

Take the ferry from Villa Real to Ayomonte a lovely village just over the Spanish border for Tapas.

There are several open markets in the area Tavira has one daily and there is a Sunday market only a few mins drive away.

There are three 18 hole golf courses and one 9 hole, Benemor is only a five mins drive and the others are within 20 mins.

Restaurants in the area are plentiful and serve local produce, the fish being caught daily
Try the fish stew called Cataplana at the Patio restaurant or a chinese at Dong Cheng in Bishops square real name Praca Padhina.

Eat Portugese steak overlooking the harbour, a short drive to Cabanas brings several more restaurants one being Pedros who serve fresh fish and meats try the skewered prawns.

Several budget airlines fly to Faro airport such as Jet 2, Monach Thompsonfly Thomas cook and Easy jet.
It is also possible to fly to Lisbon or Seville and drive down to the Algarve

“Just the Place to stay and come back too” You open the front door of the apartment, the cleanliness just hits you, walk into any room and you see 5 star comfort, the kitchen is very well equip t, the sitting room is light and airy and you have all the channels you need on the TV plus a DVD and lots of films to go with it. The town centre of Tavira is just a 5 mins walk away. Drive down the main 125 road and stop at the many coastal villages with golden sands well take a picnic lunch and enjoy the sounds of the sea,. Spain is only a short drive away about twenty minutes from Tavira, and the petrol is a lot cheaper in Spain. A good base to explore eastern Portugal & Spain . Ken & Joyce,

“WOW” This apartment in Tavira is the most comfortable , clean and value for money one could wish for. I have stayed there once but have already booked a stay tfor 2011 and 2012 the location is perfect for us and the apartment has all that you would need or wish for to make a wonderful holiday .just to sit on the veranda in the sun or under the stars with a glass of Casal Garcia and a plate of Chorizo and Serrano ham is our idea of heavan. or a grilled fish on the built in barbecue this property is ideal if you have a rental car this can be stored in the carpark underground this has a lift to the apartment . i must mention Sandy and Pete these are your contacts inTavira.. two stars who take care of the apartment and will help you to settle in . Enjoy .David mason

WOW!!!!! arrived home with a smile on my face ....Well Sue where do i start what a month it will be forever a holiday to be remembered . excellent in every way the area.... the town of Tavira.... The fresh food.... but above all THE APARTMENT we were so happy to arrive in Pegada to be shown around this wonderful apartment so well appointed and equipped. Sandie and Pete are total gems.

Hi Sue We had a really fantastic time, we loved your apartment and the area. We found that the apartment had everything we needed, and was very well appointed. We particularly liked the fact that with two balconies, back and front, we could always be sitting in the sun no matter what the time of day!

We had a most enjoyable holiday and relived very fond memories of Portugal - our last visit was about 1994
I am pleased to say not a lot seemed to have changed -the people were still very charming and courteous,prices very reasonable,food excellent and the climate delightful.
We like this side of the Algarve in preference to the west of Faro and Tavira is a gem.We will definitely return.
The apartment is perfect and suited our needs splendidly.
Sandie was charming (did not meet Peter) and very attentive and helpful ;and I have to say your own attention to detail and customer care is very refreshing. From every point of view we had a superb time and I thank you.

Your apartment was lovely and so convenient. We even took the train to Faro one day from our Porto Nova station -made us feel like the locals. You certainly have an asset and friends in Pete and Sandie. They were so friendly and made us feel they were available should we need them. When we left Tavira we felt we were leaving new friends. Thank you, we had a really good holiday. The apartment was more spacious than we had expected and bright and very comfortable. On a couple of days we were able to sit out on the terrace in mid January in hot sunshine! Enjoyed exploring Tavira and the surrounding area and the fabulous beaches. Madeline and Michel Jan 2008.

We enjoyed the journey, especially Tavira. Your apartment is excellent and we felt like at home even from the 1st day we were there. The town is peaceful and beautiful and the people are very friendly, although we could not communicate in English. It is a lovely property and we found it an ideal base to explore Tavira and the Algarve. Our week in Portugal was relaxing and a lot of fun. We enjoyed ourselves immensely and much of that was a result of staying in such a beautifully furnished and well equipped apartment.
