Quinta do Morgado is a charming country estate in the midst of ancient trees and beautiful gardens. This lovely one-bedroom apartment is located in the newer part of the estate, is spacious and has a real Mediterranean feel. Monte Da Eira apartments are 35 km from Faro Airport, and once in Quinta do Morgado public transport is easily accessible with buses only 100m away and the train station 1km away. There is plenty to do around Quinta do Morgado with nearby golf courses, water sports and beaches nearby, making this the perfect quality stay in an authentic environment.
Tavira combines relaxation away from hordes of tourists with a picturesque setting, a rare feat for the Algarve. Perhaps this is because Tavira is 30km away from the stretch of coast between Faro and Lagos that is teeming with apartment-hotels and self-catering villas and general tourist traps. This town lies further towards Spain (28km) and seems once removed from resorts further west. However, recent developments in the town, such as converting the old market into a restaurant and shopping mall, or building two new golf courses, suggest that Tavira will not be off the beaten track for much longer.
Tavira is famous for its seven arch Roman Bridge over the River Gilao, and with its gorgeously old Algarve architecture it is considered to be the most architecturally attractive town in the Algarve. Beyond the town and accessible by a short, pleasant ferry ride is the Ilha da Tavira which is a gorgeous golden sandy beach, so wide and unspoilt that you never feel crowded. For a departure from some of the busier beach resorts around Faro, this is a wonderful thing to do.
Over 300 days of sunshine a year and minimum temperatures of around 14 .C are a strong attraction for those seeking an outdoor lifestyle, cooled by refreshing Atlantic breezes. Stunning natural beauty with fantastic scenery, including fantastic sandy beaches, dramatic rocky coastlines and the largest expanses of golf courses to be found in southern Europe.
English is widely spoken due to the large number of British visitors in Portugal. Most legal and financial professionals speak English to a high degree of proficiency. It's no surprise, with a coastline and a climate like the Algarve's that 'messing about in boats' is so popular. Whether you're interested in hiring a yacht, or just finding somewhere to moor you own vessel, there's plenty of choice for sailing in the Algarve.
If this is your sport, you might like to try out an Algarve vacation at one of the region's top-class tennis clubs and tennis centres. You can improve those strokes at the same
time as enjoying some of the loveliest settings in the Iberian Peninsula. Whatever your standard, you'll find a club or facility (with a qualified coach if you wish) that's just right for you.
Needless to say, in a friendly climate such as provided by that wonderful Algarve weather, many more active holidaymakers opt for the thrills and spills of Algarve watersports. Or perhaps you'd rather do something more restful, like exploring the beautiful coastline in a masted sailing ship, or just relaxing on a pleasure trip or river cruise?
Rather than a paddle, you can propel these kayaks by pedalling, or with a sail. It's fun, not at all tiring - and it all takes place in the beautiful Ria Formosa nature reserve, so
there's plenty of wildlife and aquatic stuff to see. Algarve kayaks offer a great family adventure day out!
The Algarve is famous for its horse riding centres, and the countryside can be appreciated at a more leisurely pace while you're on horseback. There are riding schools that cater to all levels of ability.
Safaris are a great way to take in the less accessible parts of inland Algarve. You'll be driven around in off-roaders like Jeeps or Land Rovers, so the type of terrain you encounter won't be a problem. You will get to see all sorts of animals on the Safari making it an interesting holiday for you and your family.

The Algarve region
So what makes the Algarve such a great place? Algarve Holidays have long been thought of as great family holidays and beach holidays and the region has deservedly earned a reputation for golf holidays too. However the Algarve should also be known for it's truly unique contrast between the golden coastline and the beautiful rural countryside, it's many historic attractions and thousands of species of flora and fauna.
The Algarve, Portugal, is only a 3 hour flight (or less) from the United Kingdom, Ireland and many other parts of Europe and flights arrive to the region's sole international airport, Faro Airport (in central Algarve). Faro flights arrive daily throughout the year, with several arrivals and departures each day from airlines during the busiest summer months of July to September.
Tavira is a really attractive town with some lovely, quite grand, buildings reflecting it's wealthy past particularly around the Praça da República area and then typical rows of portuguese 'town' houses with tiled fronts along narrow cobbled streets; shops to browse in; pretty gardens and squares to sit in and, of course, plenty of restaurants and cafes for refreshments!
If you enjoy shopping then don't miss the Gran-Plaza shopping mall - it has a fantastic selection of shops, places to eat and cinemas as well as a large Continente supermarket.
The beach at Tavira is a fabulous island beach, Ilha de Tavira, a 14km long offshore sandspit. Ferries cross from the town centre throughout the summer and all year round from nearby Quatro Águas.
There are lots of delightful places to explore around Tavira starting with the pretty town of Cabanas just to the east. The view across the sheltered lagoon of the Ria Formosa to the ilha beach is idyllic and there is nothing more relaxing than sitting at one of the pavement cafes along the waterfront with a glass of chilled wine!

"Excellent holiday rental"
this is one of the best holiday apartments we have ever stayed in. it is modern, bright, very clean and extremely well maintained. The entire complex is of a very high standard and all staff work hard to maintain a high level. The pool area is so good that a trip to the beach was not needed in our 12 night stay.20/30 minute walk to the town of Tavira which is well worth a visit with lots of historical buildings and churches.there are lots of restaurants and bars in the town unfortunately some of which are let down badly by their service with waits of over an hour for a meal which were not of a good standard. The best restaurant in Tavira is the onsite restaurant 100 mts from the apartment with great food and excellent staff. But over all a great holiday in an apartment that is one off the best even just to sit on the balcony and watch the sunset.

We loved this apartment, it had everything we needed for our stay. Traveled as a family with young child and so the pool was a great advantage.
There is a supermarket on site and a lovely bar but also a huge shopping centre with shops just a short stroll.
Town is a short walk and we were walking with a toddler and found it fine.
Just the say the photos do not really do this apartment justice and truly great value for money.

"Comfortable, bright apartment Tavira"
Very pleased with the accommodation. The apartment was very comfortable and spacious enough for 2. Situated on the third floor the apartment had plenty of light and was very clean and well furnished.
The swimming pool looked lovely but as the weather was cool at the end of March we were not brave enough to use it.
We did not have a car but used the local train service. Tavira has 2 stations one of which was just a 15 minute walk from the apartment.
The apartment is situated on the out-skirts of Tavira but the walk into the town is a manageable walk.
