THE SUMMER HOUSE is sunny and light, with beautiful timber-beamed rooms, and a private secluded Pool, set in spacious secluded sub-tropical gardens. The Summer House - so called, because it’s where the owners used to spend their summers, before moving back to the ‘big house’ - forms the West wing of their large, traditional Portuguese country home. The superb Summer House is a completely self-contained part of the main house, with its own driveway, parking area, and gate, leading to its own garden, pool and entrance door.
There is a cafe and restaurant within easy walk, and a sleepy traditional village 3 mins drive away offers a restaurant, post office, pharmacy, mini-markets, tavernas and cafes. It’s only 6 mins drive from beautiful medieval Tavira with its riverside restaurants, and several uncrowded golden sandy beaches.. The Summer House has a wonderful tranquil countryside setting where you can completely relax. .

THE SUMMER HOUSE:
2 charming timber-beamed bedrooms, sleeping 4 people.
The first floor master bedroom is a romantic timber galleried room with
a generous king-size bed.
The twin bedded double room, has patio doors onto the terrace.
The 2 shower rooms are decorated with traditional hand-painted Portuguese tiles.
The well-equipped kitchen has fridge/freezer, hob and microwave.
The delightful timber-beamed living room is comfortably furnished.
Patio doors open open onto a covered terrace surrounded by sub-tropical plants. You can dine ‘al fresco’ overlooking the garden and pool.

THE SUMMER HOUSE has magnificent countryside views of vineyards, acres of orange groves, almond trees and ancient olive trees.
POOL & GARDEN
Patio doors open onto a terrace which runs the length of the house, with four steps leading up to the secluded plant-fringed pool and sunbathing deck. The pool is approximately 3 metres in diameter and 90cms deep. It can be floodlit at night, and has a poolside shower. Barbecue, patio furniture and sun loungers are provided. The Summer House is the perfect place to relax and restore your spirits.
The house is surrounded by beautiful sub-tropical gardens with many exotic plants and trees: pepper trees, mimosa, carob and palms.

We only do multiples of a week, ie one/ two weeks, not 10 days.
(However, we will consider, for example, 10 days bookings, in April, early May, and October.)
Saturday is our changeover day. You may arrive/ leave on any day, but the weekly rate is charged from Saturday to Saturday.
35% deposit to confirm booking.

The Eastern Algarve is a beautiful unspoilt area, with miles of uncrowded golden beaches, ancient Moorish towns & picturesque villages.
BEACHES near Tavira are wide, sandy and safe for children, with the EC Blue Flag for cleanliness. The nearest beaches are about 10 minutes drive from the villa.

The Tavira area
TAVIRA TOWN
Tavira is a picturesque town, with narrow cobbled streets, beautiful riverside gardens, many restaurants, old palaces, castle ruins and ancient Roman bridge spanning a wide river. There is a large daily vegetable and fish market, a wide variety of small shops, and a good selection of river-side restaurants where you may eat “al fresco”.
During the summer evenings Tavira hosts many cultural activities - from the visiting national ballet, and classical concerts in one of Tavira’s ornate ancient churches – to jazz at the Amphitheatre by the river, and local folk dancing under the stars in the central gardens.

BEACHES: The nearest beach is 12 minutes drive from the villa. Refreshments, meals, sun-beds & parasols, are available on all local beaches. Tavira Island is particularly beautiful, reached by a short ferry ride. Local beaches are within the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve, famed for its flamingoes.
The Spanish border is only thirty minutes drive from the villa. Historic SEVILLE is only 1.5 hours drive, and, with its ancient palaces, cathedrals and riverside parks, it is well worth a visit.
The Tavira shopping mall, Gran Plaza, has many clothes shops for those requiring some retail therapy, as well as several restaurants and cinemas.
