This 2 bedroom apartment is fully air conditioned. The master bedroom is en-suite with a walk in rain-maker shower, toilet, and sink with vanity unit. The second bedroom has use of the large bathroom,with a jacuzzi bath, shower, toilet bidet and sink with vanity unit. An extra bed is available and a sofa bed in the living room.
This is a perfect environment also if you have children, with a nice pool area (which never feels crowded!) and the beach just 10 mns walk.
Guests can take the boat pier (near old market) and take a boat trip to" Ilha de Tavira" one of the most beautiful beaches in Southeast Algarve.

A non refundable 30% deposit is required to secure the reservation. A refundable €150 house deposit will also be required. All charges include normal cleaning before arrival, change of linen once per week and normal cleaning after departure. All linen and towels are provided.

The Algarve region
The Eastern Algarve is the lesser known part of the Algarve and as many of the beaches are accessible by boat it has meant that it has not suffered the building blight that some parts of the Algarve have experienced. It provides the visitor with a more authentic Portuguese experience and the town of Tavira with its Moorish and Phoenician influences is the jewel in its crown.
Many people come to the Eastern Algarve to bird watch as the Ria Formosa is the most important birding site in the Algarve. Covering 60km it comprises large areas of dunes, lagoons, channels and islands, salt pans pools and river mouths. The diversity of habitat in the area means that you can spot up to 50 species of bird in a morning from Greater Flamingoes to Eurasian spoonbills to Crested Coots. It is an area of great importance for a wide range of breeding, passage and wintering birds hence it is a haven for the ornithologist.
Families will enjoy visiting the Ria Formosa Park which has a visitors centre situated at Quinta da Marim close to Olhao. Here there is a 3km nature trail which takes you right through the heart of the Ria Formosa from the salt marshes and Roman ruins to a traditional villa built by local poet Joao Lucio. The park has a breeding program for the native Portuguese water dogs and visitors can stroke the dogs at the kennels and talk to the handlers.

Omega Parque - near Monchique. Zoo, holding only threatened species.
Cova dos Mouros - Mining village near Alcoutim. Reconstruction of pre-historical mining activity in the Algarve.
Santa Maria apartment is located 10 min. from down town Tavira a gem waiting to be explored with over 30 churches and a castle to discover.
Take the mini train or visit the camera obscura to get an overview of the town then explore the narrow cobbled streets and tree lined river banks in your own time taking a break at a pavement cafe to watch the world go by.
There are dozens of bars and restaurants to choose from and free live entertainment in the town square in high season. There are lots of beaches to discover by boat, by train and by car. A highlight is the ferry ride down the river and over to the Ila de Tavira where the pristine blue flag beach stretches for 18km-just walk a few minutes down the beach for your own private piece of paradise.
Tavira town is very family friendly and at night you will see family groups out enjoying themselves.Quick access to the A22 makes visiting the West Algarve easy.
Tavira is steeped in history and offers historians a great look back in time with over 32 churches. Take a 15 minute drive east and you are in Spain.
With the A22 and a local train station within 2km, you can travel the Algarve to fully enjoy what is on offer on this stunning location.
Tavira is a picturesque town with cobbled streets and tiled roof buildings, it also has an abundance of pavement cafe's and bars to sit and watch the world go by
The river Gilao meets the river Sequa and the Roman bridges that cross it are very attractive.
Take the little train or horse drawn carriage around Tavira to see the sights.
The beaches around the area are blue flag standard and those close by are part of the Ria Formosa National Park,
Visit Praia Barril beach which you can access by a little train or by foot, Iiha Tavira beach by boat from Tavira centre, Cabanas beach accessed by boat or if you prefer to drive up to the beach visit Praia Verde, Altura, Monte Gordo and many more.
In the summer there is a good program of evening entertainment much of it open air and free.
July and August are the months when the cine club film festival visit the town and well worth a look.
Other festivals are the medieval or the Easter parade in Tavira.
Visit the sea salt flats or the oyster and fish farms, go to the obsevatory tower in the north of the city or visit the castle.
Take a paddle steamer down the Guardian River to Alcotim or visit the Zoo Marine, the Aqualand pool or go karting, all a short drive away.
Take the ferry from Villa Real to Ayomonte a lovely village just over the Spanish border for Tapas.
There are several open markets in the area Tavira has one daily and there is a Sunday market only a few mins drive away.
There are three 18 hole golf courses and one 9 hole, Benemor is only a five mins drive and the others are within 20 mins.

"Child freindly, clean, modern, spacious accessible and friendly."
We travelled with our toddler, we found the apartment to be safe and equipped with travel cot excellent air con. The apartment is modern, clean and has all the necessities.
There is a small playground close by, and the Grand Plaza shopping centre, with a large supermarket, 2 min walk! There is parking within the complex, electric gate (was on the blink at the time, but was getting mended!)
Its a 10/15 min stroll into the centre of Tavira.
The swimming pool is a good size, well maintained, there is a kiddies pool, but was not filled with water at our time of visit. There are steps at the shallow end of large pool, still suitable for toddlers, supervised of course! The pool is a bit expossed to a path, but in time the trees planted will make it more private. All in all, a very nice pool area and nice break from the beach.
Overall stay in apartment was excellent. Would definately stay there again.

"Really enjoyed our stay, excellent apartment in the heart of Tavira."
As a family of four (two young children age 8 and 4) we spent a wonderful week in Tavira. The apartment was excellent (in fact the ad doesn't do it justice), with quality finishings, fully air conditioned, great kitchen and large bedrooms. Close to a large supermarket (Portuguese equivalent of Tesco, called Continente) and a 5 mns walk to the centre of Tavira it was ideally placed to both exploring the town as well as taking the little boat to the beach (Island of Tavira). The pool is a good size and a real treat when you travel with young children as temperatures can rise to high 30s at that time of the year. We strongly recommend Praia do Barril for a great day a the beach (take the little train across the marshes, kids will love it), a fantastic all you can eat for 10 euros (!) fish restaurant called Vela 2, the Tavira market early in the morning (get some fresh tuna if you can). We will surely return.

"Modern apartment, lovely town"
I chose this apartment because it was competitively priced, had WiFi and a pool. The pool didn't disappoint - despite being unheated & therefore refreshing!! Only downside to poolside sunbathing was not having a lounger or any chairs to sit on! The apartment location was good, we found it quiet & easy (& safe) to walk into & out of Tavira town. The new shopping centre 5 minutes away spoils the view ever so slightly but it is very handy having a supermarket & lots of other shops so close by. The wifi was reliable but only in one room of the apartment and due to the weak signal I could not access it on my smartphone, but had a laptop with me which was fine.
The aircon in the apartment was very useful because it was very warm when we were there. There were a few issues with the apartment, nothing major but I notified the owner during our stay, they were not resolved before we departed but I hope they will be for future visitors.
As the previous reviewer mentioned..the lifts weren't working when we visited. As the apartment is on the 3rd floor this meant lugging suitcases up a lot of stairs...not ideal! I was surprised in such a modern apartment block that the lift was out of order for what must've been a few weeks.
This is a nice, modern, spacious apartment and we enjoyed our stay in Tavira very much.
The aparment is now closer, the elevator is working again. Sunbeds are available to enjoy the wonderful pool. We await you in the near future.

"Nice spacious, modern apartment convenient for town & services"
We found this modern 3rd floor apartment to be spacious and would certainly go there again.
The kitchen was well-equipped with appliances, pots & pans, crockery etc. But, only one power outlet which you have to juggle between water heater, kettle, toaster, coffee maker, etc. The master double-bedroom was comfortable, with plenty of storage space. The second twin ensuite bedroom (which we didn't use) also had plenty space. The 2 bathrooms were clean and efficient and the showers were fine. Plenty of space in the living room with a large dining table there. Also a large wall mounted flat screen TV. We had free use of wifi which was very handy. Weather was extremely hot (14 days of 30+ degrees C sunshine) and there were separate and efficient airconditioning units in the bedrooms and living room; these were welcome indeed. The swimming pool is well maintained although there isn't any shade and we rarely saw anyone else there. There was no water in the children's pool when we were there.
The roof terrace (only one more flight of stairs up) outlooks over the Ria Formosa & has barbecue facilities - although I didn't use the BBQ. There isn't any shade up there, though.
The apartment is easy to find on a wide avenue and the access to it is good from the main roads about 40 minutes from Faro airport; parking there is secure on a gated access road within the development. The older and attractive part of Tavira ('Roman Bridge' etc ) is really only 10 - 15 minutes walk away. There are many fine restaurants there. There's a shopping centre Gran Plaza with a large supermarket Continente within 300 metres of the apartment; in there are a cinema and loads of shops and 'fast food' outlets ... if you like that sort of thing. The municipal market is an experience - again it's only 15 mins across the river on foot - although there's good carparking there.
We'd planned to do a lot of hiking, but the weather was really too hot for that other than first thing in the morning or late afternoon. We did do a lot of birdwatching and you'll find lots of interesting waterbirds (including flamingo, white stork, spoonbill, little egret, stilt, avocet, little tern) on the salinas nearby. The nature reserve information centre at Castro Marim is not worth visiting - it's dilapidated and unhelpful and closed weekends!. Long sandy beaches are reached by ferry - and the journey isn't any hassle at all and cheap. Beach facilities were not expensive (5euros for loungers & shade in late afternoon). The motorway is relatively quiet and you can be in Spain in about 40 minutes.
Just a few things you should consider: The balcony is a bit tight for space and it's outlook isn't that great and, in October at least, is never directly in the sun. The Google Earth map & sat views are out of date as the road layout and surrounding landscape has changed a bit. The Santa Maria Condo block is a work in progress and development seems to be stalled; many of the apartments appear to be unoccupied. There are building works ongoing ( 8am - 6pm) about 300 metres to the west. The apartment is 3-floors up and the lift was not in operation, so it wouldn't suit anyone of severely restricted mobility. But, these things didn't really affect us.
I brought my satnav which helped with driving (and walking) although the road signage everywhere is pretty good. Also took laptop for email, weather forecasts, local information, etc. and also mobile phones.

"Best would be difficult"
First of all we must honor the kindness and sympathy of the lessee.
The apartment has all the amenities one would expect in a new apartment.
The pool is excellent (be the envy of many lodging).
The location is great (easy to find and easy access to main roads)
Only two observations provides confidence but not least prevent them from continuing to consider the apartment very good: the failure of the elevator and off the pool for the smallest children.
Anyway I think the best assessment I can do is express desire and intention to re-use this space
