This is a very desirable apartment. It has its own private Cabanas on the roof terrace which is great to relax, read a book, have a glass of chilled wine, meditate or do some yoga etc. It has a very large living/dining area with a two and a three seater comfy settee and an easy chair. The main bedroom comprises a large king size bed with bedside lockers, lamps and a dressing table with stool. It also has a large en-suite bathroom and balcony with sea views. The main bathroom has a bath and shower, toilet and bidet. The second bedroom has two single beds, wardrobe and bedside locker and lamps. It is fully air conditioned and furnished to a very high spec.

The apartment is situated in a very quiet area with barbecue and seated balcony area. Master bedroom has an en-suite and private balcony. There is nearby access to a tennis court and access to a wide variety of shopping and restaurants all within walking distance.

Even though apartment is on one level and very suitable for children, children under twelve to be supervised due to high balconies.

Refundable deposit of £150.00 to be paid with balance of rent. This will be refunded once apartment is checked for breakages or unfair use of gas and electric. The cost of rent includes all utility costs, subject to fair usage policy.

For five persons there is a surcharge of £50.00 to cover extra utility costs.

The Algarve region

The Algarve has a mild climate and can be visited all year, the hottest months are July and August.

Being only 2hrs 45 mins flight from the UK it is also good for long week-end trips as well as full holiday's.

The Algarve is well known for it's superb blue flag beaches and different coast line from one end to the other.

It is a golfers paradise with many golf courses along the whole of the area.

The area is loved for its unspoilt beaches, lay-back atmosphere and breath taking scenery, making it an ideal holiday destination for families and experienced travellers alike.

Tavira

Tavira is a picturesque town with cobbled streets and tiled roof buildings, it also has an abundance of pavement cafe's and bars to sit and watch the world go by. Tavira is known as the little Venice of Portugal, a truly special place full of old world charm.

The river Gilao meets the river Sequa and the Roman bridges that cross it are very attractive.

Take the little train or horse drawn carriage around Tavira to see the sights.

The beaches around the area are blue flag standard and those close by are part of the Ria Formosa National Park,

Visit Praia Barril beach which you can access by a little train or by foot, Iiha Tavira beach by boat from Tavira centre, Cabanas beach accessed by boat or if you prefer to drive up to the beach visit Praia Verde, Altura, Monte Gordo and many more.

In the summer there is a good program of evening entertainment much of it open air and free.

July and August are the months when the cine club film festival visit the town and well worth a look.

Other festivals are the medieval or the Easter parade in Tavira.

Visit the sea salt flats or the oyster and fish farms, go to the obsevatory tower in the north of the city or visit the castle.

Take a paddle steamer down the Guardian River to Alcotim or visit the Zoo Marine, the Aqualand pool or go karting, all a short drive away.

Take the ferry from Villa Real to Ayomonte a lovely village just over the Spanish border for Tapas.

There are several open markets in the area Tavira has one daily and there is a Sunday market only a few mins drive away.

There are three 18 hole golf courses and one 9 hole, Benemor is only a five mins drive and the others are within 20 mins.

Restaurants in the area are plentiful and serve local produce, the fish being caught daily

Try the fish stew called Cataplana at the Patio restaurant or a chinese at Dong Cheng in Bishops square real name Praca Padhina.

Eat Portugese steak overlooking the harbour, a short drive to Cabanas brings several more restaurants one being Pedros who serve fresh fish and meats try the skewered prawns.

"Beautiful area, outstanding apartment"

We were so impressed by the quality of the apartment, the photos do not do it justice - spacious and kitted out with everything we needed. We were welcomed by the house manager and her husband who made us feel welcome, and at ease having them nearby.

Tavira is beautiful and we loved walking around, and making the most of the many cafes and restaurants. We found the locals both welcoming and accommodating to our total lack of Portuguese, although I'm sure they appreciated our feeble attempts.

The apartment has the benefit of 2 balconies, and a wonderful roof terrace which is ideal for sunbathing as private. We spent many afternoons relaxing on the sun loungers while having a beer (or two). The owner was quick to respond to e-mails when we booked and happy to answer queries we had. We can't wait to go back!

"Our first visit to Portugal"

As it was our first visit to Portugal, we did not know what to expect, but we were very pleasantly suprised at the high standard of the apartment. The accomodation is spacious and the quality of the utilities are first class. We had a 20 month old baby with us and he was able to run around the apartment freely without any worry. We enjoyed the very relaxing atmosphere and the freedom to do what we wanted. Sitting on the balcony with the BBQ in the evening was great.
We had undisturbed nights and enjoyable days in Taveria and the surrounding towns. Everything is within easy reach by car, and the local town and supermarkets are a short walk away. Brian and Sandra were very helpful and made us feel at ease on arrival.
Taviara is a lovely town and the people are very friendly. Most speak english, but a few Portugese words are always appreciated.
All in all we had a lovely relaxing time and will hope to return at some time in the future.

"GREAT PLACE TO VISIT AND STAY!"

The apartment was exceptionally clean Vmodern and bright with comfortable furnishings
Two Good size bathrooms with one en-suite to the main double bedroom.The balcony is large and has a barbecue which is great although we eat out everyday and evening in Tavira Town. The apartment had new modern appliances and the welcome package is a nice touch.
Although we hired a car which we recommend,a easy drive from Faro airport we also used the local Tavira Taxi's which were very reasonable. The beaches are a short drive.
Tavira Town and the areas around the Roman bridge are good for both sightseeing and eating out . Tavira is a delightful town and this apartment provided for all our needs and well located to the town , beaches and motorways. I would definately stay there again and I am happy to recommend this apartment and service provided.

"Pleasant and relaxing way to get away from it all"

The apartment was very modern and overall spacious with a decent range of amenities and essentials to make it a comfortable self-service living space. There is a good sized balcony to sit outside and the surrounding area is peaceful and quiet set far back from the main road. We found that the blackout blinds in the bedroom meant we got a totally undisturbed sleep on the mornings!

There is a train station nearby which you pass through on your way to Tavira, it's very useful as it opens up the Algarve coast, there's a pretty limited service but the welcome pack in the apartment includes an annual timetable.

Tavira is a quiet town with a lot of restaurants and bars which although often touristy are surprisingly very reasonably priced, we used a nearby cafe Venezuela Pastelaria in the mornings for breakfast which is about a ten minute walk away from the apartment and had an excellent selection of cakes, in the evenings (on the way back to the apartment) it seemed popular with the locals and we often would take advantage of their generously sized Gin and tonics!

To find fresh produce head to the large Portugese supermarket called Pingu Doce just outside the centre of town but within walking distance, just walk upstream along the river and you can't miss it. Don't forget to visit the Tavira Food Market in the morning, it is situated near the new bridge which spans the river Gilao, there is fish, meat, vegetables and delicatessen on offer.

We used ferries which depart from Tavira town to visit some of the surrounding islands and one day we went to ilha de Armona which was beautiful to visit with lots of deserted beaches.

All in all a very pleasant and relaxing way to get away from it all, we were very happy with our stay. We didn't rent a car and we didn't miss it as there was enough on offer but I think if we had stayed longer we would rent one just to open up more of the surrounding Algarve.
