Travel along the original roads, still used by farmers, in a part of Portugal that is both tranquil and unspoilt. Visit the nearby town of Tavira, a beautiful town mixing both old and new elements of the Algarve. The area has miles of Blue Flag sandy beaches and the climate is lovely all year round - perfect for escaping the dreay winter months as it is always sunny here.

This beautiful town of Tavira mixes both old and new elements of the Algarve. Tavira is a charming small town with the river Gilâo running through the centre under a very historic Roman bridge. Not to be missed: the castle ruins and exquisite churches. Relax at one of the many riverside restaurants and pavement cafes that offer all types of cuisine. The meandering streets lead to a riverside park and square where there is often public entertainment on summer evenings, at other times, piped classical music is to be heard around the town.
Take the boat across to the pretty Isle of Tavira where you can sunbathe or swim in the pleasant waters of the Atlantic.
The villa is a perfect location for golf in Portugal - and in Spain. Portugese golf courses: Benamor - 15 mins, Quinta De Cima - 20 mins, Quinta De Ria - 20 mins and Castro Marim - 20 mins
Spanish golf courses: Isla Canela - 45 mins, Islantilla (as advertised in magazines), El Rompido and Villamoura - 1 hour. Brand new for this year - only 10 minutes away - the new Jack Nicklaus golf course. Casa Rolla is perfectly situated for both total relaxation and a variety of outdoor pursuits
How to get there
Fly to Faro. Budget airlines Easy Jet, Monarch and Ryan Air all fly to Faro. British Airways, Air 2000, TAP and Thompson-fly also fly to Faro. Ryan air flights to Seville which is about 1.5 hours drive away.
